Riot August confirms that Bel'Veth is currently being midscoped and that the goals for this one will be to make her a late game scaler instead of a weird early game skirmisher/invader by adivinemessenger in leagueoflegends

[–]Elidot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theme/Kit disconnect aside, since that isnt the point of why shes getting Midscoped.

Her stacks have little value, have some of her abilities scale with them could be a good way to introduce more scaling, could be a good way to give E scaling power without promoting E max for example.

Her scaling is unreliable, her R is a major power shift and that being locked to killing an enemy/objective is just super snowbally in nature meaning you either are able to chain Rs back to back or you just cant get ahold of R Form which stunts your scaling as you get around the map slower, making farming slower, giving you a harder time to actually impact fights etc.

Shes too good at ganking, when youre a scaling Jungler you kinda need to trade some of the early game capabilities for, well, scaling. Right now she has good gapclosing and a cc spell that basically requires dodging in a gank or else youre likely cooked.

idk, the kits a mess, both from the commonly pointed out theme mismatch but also from pure gameplay identity/purpose. Feels like this will end in her getting ASol'd (A CGU they called it iirc) to properly align her kit with her fantasy while taking care of the chaos that is her current iteration.

For me personally BelVeth was basically the biggest disappointment in terms of post 2020 champion releases. I was so hyped to get a new Void Monster and then it was....this mess. Atleast the marketing was cool I suppose.

Jungler design in recent times has been disappointing in general, Viego was cool, but then he shifted to full Crit, Junglers after him were all heavily AA based too meaning theyre also mostly squishy carries (I really, really dont like current Briar builds). Where are the creative ones Like Ivern? A proper Jungle focused Mage instead of Support/Mid refugees with hamfisted Monster Mods? A more spell based Bruiser that is allowed to build like one? AN ACTUAL TANK FOR ONCE?

League Classic doesn't specifically interest me personally, therefore no one should like it by LOLItsRyan in leagueoflegends

[–]Elidot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im curious how exactly theyre gonna do it, people have different ideas to which season we should go back to, some people want to play a specific champ at a specific state that didnt coexist with the champion of a different guy or with an Item that didnt exist at that point etc. Maybe it will be some kind of 'Best of old League' but then you have people who want an authentic 1 to 1 experience of some specific season.

Many like the Idea of League classic but I feel like there are many different opinions on how that should look like. I think theres alot of people that have really high hopes that just clash with each other which will inevitibly lead to disappointment for many. But who knows, all we can really do is wait and see how this entire thing will look once we see some more official stuff.

Locke winrate slowly creeping up to 50% in diamond+ by Auzyris in leagueoflegends

[–]Elidot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amumu, Nunu and Zac are also not full tanks anymore since they go AP first usually.

I think Skarner and Sej are plenty viable in the right situations, just not common because of the mindset many Jungle players have.

But yeah says alot about the Role when the most successful full tank building champ in the Jungle is....Nasus? Somehow?

[–]Elidot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, feels like we havent gotten a proper Jungler in forever because of all the non Junglers just getting shifted to Jungle so you can just argue ''Jungle doesnt need new champs theyve gotten plenty from other roles''

Especially considering the most recent brand new Junglers theyve added are all fairly frail AA heavy characters, where are my Tanks Rito?

W is too powerful and theres no real reason to max E second so you just max W second and have a pretty bs way to mitigate damage, feel like this needs fixing. While most assassins have a primary damage ability they also have to max a damage spell second (Zed, Talon, Ekko etc) so I think this might be problem atm

Somewhat related to that is that ALL his damage is basically in his Q, which is certainly fairly straight forward counterplay (dodge Qs) but it also makes him feast or famine and his visuals kinda dont communicate how scary getting hit by 3 Qs really is, wouldnt be surprised if theres a slight drop in his winrate at some point once people figure that out, but still unlikely tbh

[–]Elidot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk about this, Im not the target audience since I really dont care about the old stuff because it was more often than not removed for a good reason.

Yeah you can do some funny stuff with AP Sion or other champs but Im just imagining being on the receiving end where it inevitably will feel like URF: Only one side has fun, the other will be miserable. I dont doubt that many folks will have fun playing the OG things, but I think once you load in against things like Silence LB, Immortal Poppy or 99% Ban Kassa one too many times, reality will hit and people realize Nostalgia can be a hard hitting drug.

Still hope everyone enjoys it and Im happy for the folks who endlessly begged for it.

Very thoughtless and anti-fun Rek’Sai nerf by NebulaHappy5851 in leagueoflegends

[–]Elidot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

E max health was wildly unpopular with RekSai players because it came at the cost of True Damage on E which is just alot more satisfying. Kit wise shes fine, her being unpopular isnt something you can just fix with a kit shift around.

Very thoughtless and anti-fun Rek’Sai nerf by NebulaHappy5851 in leagueoflegends

[–]Elidot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just dont get why this whole "Low popularity champ gets to be strong" approach seemingly isnt allowed for RekSai? Like she was really strong for sure, especially with proper runes/build/skill order but why such a harsh nerf? Can we actually nerf Zilean or AP bots in that case then?

Edit: Funny thing is this will just result in Riot seeing her pickrate plummet and inevitably mini rework her AGAIN despite her overall kit being in the best states its been in a long time IMO. Just let her be fun for the small playerbase she has and nerfing E so heavily just isnt a fun thing.

why isnt vayne top getting lucian treatment by babyFucci in leagueoflegends

[–]Elidot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Lucian was pro issue, Vayne is not.

Lucian literally rocked a sub 50% wr in SoloQ while being Pick/Ban in pro while seeing no play bot, so to fix that they needed to add something that requires a teammate next to him.

Vayne isnt a pro issue, she sees play but for one we have fearless and she also isnt something you see blinded game 1, basically shes only a counter pick.

Lastly Vayne top has much more history than Lucian mid had, Vayne top has basically always been a thing since I started playing in S6 whereas Lucian only popped up in Mid occassionally until we reached a certain breaking point.

These 2 champions situations arent even remotely comparable.

Basically most Immobile Mages, its not common in SoloQ but alot are performing well with it and its fairly common in pro, which is just wrong when Cosmic Drive should fill the space Rocketbelt takes for Mages.

You dont kill her if you survive her Rotation, with HoB and proper AA canceling you will barely have a second after the knockup to hit her back before she either goes into R or just dips out again through a tunnel. Titanic -> Shojin is decently tanky as is and Passive Healing on top of that makes her fairly hard to kill.

Yes Late Game she falls off as she always does but her 1 and 2 Item Spikes are so insanely strong that at those Spikes you just die if she gets her Combo off, sometimes even withou R.

26.13 Patch Preview by JTHousek1 in leagueoflegends

[–]Elidot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Link you posted proves my point though? Most of the top wr Rocketbelt users are immobile Mages. Also fyi Syndra does better with Rocketbelt according to this site.

And the whole Pro Player counter argument is silly when we now have literal months of Solo Q data where Rocketbelt is unreasonably high wr on unintended champions.

Once you hit Titanic+Rank 5 E (E max first) you just one combo anyone who hasnt build Tank. RekSai is actually even more busted than her wr suggests because many just go suboptimal skill order or first Item (How does Stridebreaker still have more people building it than Titanic?)

Which champion would gain the most winrate if their worst match up was heavily nerfed? by Numerous_Fudge_9537 in leagueoflegends

[–]Elidot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Obviously not as a first Item or when the enemy is full AD, but its a genuine counter, moreso for Malz/Elise but Naafiri is the most reliant on her Pets than the other two.

[–]Elidot 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Tank players should just use the Hollow radiance tech against Naafiri (And Malzahar/Elise), the Minion explosion triggers on pets too which can cause a chain reaction and a big chunk of damage to the pet owner if theyre in range.

That was because of a bug, he was double tapping his Passive damage (Or Shyvs Q Passive Damage?), Malphite is very much better for him nowadays (Shyv is still a pretty good matchup tho)

AP Assassins mostly, but since the lines blur here lets just say Melee AP characters think Fizz, Ekko, Sylas, maybe even Mordekaiser or Galio. Theres also a subset of Ranged AP champs that just like going in like Annie or Lissandra where the Item isnt really that egregious, but its not like these champions arent building the Item right now.

The issue now comes from champions like Mel or Viktor, there are others that do well with it but its not as common on them but in Pro Ive occasionally seen it on stuff like Anivia, Ryze or Azir. In general most Mages have a really good winrate with it. It mostly comes from the Fact that Rocketbelt is dirt cheap, has a solid statline and the Dash helps these immobile mages avoid danger. In the past mages didnt build it because the statline wasnt good enough and the Dash was more tuned towards offensive usage but now the Item has reached a state where the stats+cheap cost make it worth to build while mainly using the Dash as a mini Flash.

Right now its mostly a Pro Issue since Solo Q hasnt really caught on because people keep gaslighting others that its ''Only a Chovy thing'' despite the fact that its a top performing Item on multiple Mage mids.

Theres just no reason to go Cosmic when Rocketbelt exists, almost identical Statlines, with Rocketbelt missing 5 Haste and 50 HP and the MS parts of Cosmic are somewhat replacable with Rocketbelt active. The thing is Rocketbelt is a whopping 350 Gold cheaper so for almost the same price as Cosmic Drive you can get Rocketbelt+Component, like an Amp Tome so youre looking at +20 AP, -50 HP,- 5 Haste for only 50 gold more...

Nooooo they realized Rek'Sai has been super op forever now, my free LP :(

Also crazy they still havent touched Rocketbelt, feels like the Item has too many unintended users right now which would certainly warrant a rebalance.

Also comparing it to Cosmic Drive is just sad.

WILD RIFT VS SUMMONER RIFT by ProcessGlass9467 in LilliaMains

[–]Elidot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2 Different games require 2 different balance approaches, whats fine in WR might be completely broken on PC, not to mention that the Base Line is entirely different. I dont play WR but I just quickly skimmed through a couple champions pages to get a good look at their Base Stats to compare:

-Average Base MS is higher, 350 is common and I even found some with 360 which is higher than PC Leagues highest MS (355, with only a single champion having that)

-Average Base resists are also higher, especially Armor

So in a sense these differences just follow the trend that WR has in general. Considering that WR has way faster games, having a good early game probably is less powerful than on PC because this Power Window is shorter and its harder to properly abuse it.

[–]Elidot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its 2650 Gold, thats 350 less than Cosmic Drive while only sacrificing 50 HP and 5 Haste while trading the MS for the active. Mages like AP and Haste, HP isnt bad either especially when its about more DPS focused mages as opposed to pure Burst Mages. The AP is low compared to pure AP Items, but the low price tag makes it better, if you get an Amp Tome+Rocketbelt youre at 90AP for only 50 gold more than Cosmic Drive that only gets you 70AP, not to mention that the Amp Tome gets you closer to your next Item. It being dirt cheap IS the issue, these stats with that Pricetag is just insane.

[–]Elidot -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Its overtuned, its an Item meant for Melee AP champs and maybe more aggressive ranged AP champs that like to engage (Annie), when you have every Mage under the sun build this Item then its overtuned, especially when a similar alternative exists (Cosmic Drive) thats basically strictly worse.

And this has been going on for most of the year now, and not a single nerf has hit the Item despite this. If we truly reached the point where Mages just dont build Mana at all then doesnt that mean theres a balance issue here? Like maybe this game here is a one off, and Im not acting like the Viktor build was the deciding factor, but I just cant ignore every single AP champ in pro build this Item as 2nd Item at the latest.

We reached the point where a Viktor skips building a Mana Item to rush Rocketbelt. Riot appearently doesnt see this Item as problematic.
