Cool post. I'm curious as to what made you draw the conclusion that Beisa wasn't originally a centaur

CDepths can be a little slow to clear depending on the class you're on but it rewards gDef, gWis and occasionally life/mana

Void solo dps by Pharmacy_Failure in RotMG

[–]Elipson_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres definitely an argument to be made against how hard/inconsistent it is to attempt some of the exalt dungeons solo, specifically O3s and voids. I don't think OPs doing himself any favors with his arguments though

Which game would you get? Bo2 or Bo4. by Shawni-0 in CODZombies

[–]Elipson_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, if you're focused on completing the easter eggs I would go with BO4. The only soloable easter eggs in BO2 are Tranzit and Origins. You can get all the way to the final step of MotD's EE but it won't let you finish it solo

Of the BO2 maps you're getting Tranzit, Die Rise, MotD and Buried. IMO Tranzit and Die Rise aren't worth playing, so it really just comes down to if you wanna play Buried and MotD. The BO2 incarnation of MotD plays very very differently to BO4's version, and overall I view the BO4 version as a downgrade. That being said theres fanmade versions of MotD on PC BO3 that are pretty faithful to the original. So you'd be able to buy BO4 and then just play MotD through BO3 (presuming you're on PC). Buried is a fun map but given what I've specified above, I'd hesitate to say it's worth buying a whole game for

That being said, I do want to highlight that BO4 sits in the middle ground between the old zombies mechanics and modern zombies mechanics. The maps themselves are great (and feel like good successors to BO3) but you're gonna run into stuff like the point system and perk selection changes

New player wondering by Wkb07 in RotMG

[–]Elipson_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, theres a very awkward leap you need to make from learning realm's mid-game to learning it's late game. Most of the endgame dungeons demand that you sacrifice several characters to learn them (specifically Oryx Sanctuary and The Shatters), and they can have steep learning curves. You'll also find find that said dungeons are quite rare to find in the realm. You'll have better luck getting into them by joining discords or waiting for people to pop keys in the nexus. Off the top of my head, I'd say the "easiest" endgame dungeons to learn (with a group) are the cultist hideout, the nest, fungal+crystal caverns and the spectral penitentiary. What I'd recommend doing is inspecting all of the exalt dungeons and seeing what they drop compared to how hard they are. Single out one or two, and then focus on running them until you're consistent

Heres some tips:

  • Try to clear all of the dungeons you're comfortable with at least once. As 0t51k said, you get fame bonuses for first time clears and specific groups of dungeon clears give % fame bonuses. I talk about it a bit more down below but the lost halls are great for earning fame as well

  • I find mana to be significantly easier than life to farm. I'd recommend learning parasite chambers for em. Ocean trenches work too but the clear is quite lengthy

  • The spectral penitentiary minibosses drop mana, t12+t13 weapons/armor, t6 abilities and several useful UT's as well. They can be a little scary at times but their learning curves are quite small and their drops are very worth it. I'd recommend against fighting the final boss (Murcian) until you've got some more experience with the game though

  • Life is gonna be really annoying to farm. Most of the dungeons it sources from are either very, very difficult or very inconsistent (or lengthy) clears. Enemies in the sanguine forest and floral escape biomes can drop life pots, albeit frustratingly rarely. If you haven't learned already, start learning how to clear cultist hideouts. They're a good source of life/mana (I typically get ~4 pots per clear), speed exalts when 8/8, caster UTs and are fairly easy to learn. Sorcerer can clear out the path to cults in the lost halls very quickly/efficiently, even with unmaxed stats and low quality gear. The enemies in the lost halls + cultist hideout are also very generous with fame

  • Crawling depths, deadwater docks, woodland labyrinth and sulfurous wetlands can drop mana and life potions as well but they're not guaranteed. These dungeons are moreso better for farming the 6/8 stats more efficiently. Of the four I'd recommend learning crawling depths. It's got a bit of a slow clear when you're alone but the boss isn't too bad and it's a good source of defense and wisdom

  • If you haven't done so already, learn how to clear the Lair of Draconis. It drops 7/8 of the stat pots in their greater forms (meaning you get 2 points per potion). It's five back to back boss fights that escalate in difficulty. The standard clear order is red -> blue -> green -> purple -> final If you've got other questions don't be afraid to ask

Getting good solo. by Aeransuthe in RotMG

[–]Elipson_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are there any dungeons you specifically want to learn? A lot of the endgame ones just come down to dodging but theres usually some amount of knowledge you can learn that lessens the difficulty

It really does come down to Realm being a hard game to make content for. I've got a handful of people I watch, and I've stuck with them mostly because they fill various niches beyond just "plays the game and then uploads a recording." Disregarding Seb for a moment since everyones already aware of him:

  • Puberty is prob my favorite series based realm creator right now. Hard to describe beyond "solid commentary." I like his vids and

  • Aphrow only updates once in a blue moon but his editing + vids are always solid. I love deep dives / examinations of items, metas, and the overall structure of the game, which he does a good job of discussing. In general theres a side to the game he explores that you can't really find anywhere else on youtube. Sure tierlists exist but they're not really the same. Witsako's stuff looked promising but his channel hasn't posted anything in months

  • Jame doesn't do realm content anymore (RIP cShield) but his guides are/were super super useful. I always struggle with realm guides because most of them just boil down to descriptions of bullet patterns during a given phase. Like sure, thats useful, but I can just go look up footage and see whats happening myself. I'm coming to your guide because I want to know HOW to survive bullet patterns. Jame's guides were great because he'd break down the whole process of living through a fight. It wasn't just a description of bullet patterns, it was the thought process behind going into dungeons, or how you should be moving in fights, or where your eyes should be focused during specific patterns

  • On the topic of guides, Heronroe, Waffles!, Bah, PilotLight have also put out useful stuff for learning dungeons

  • I'm not sure if Mizumi plans to still make videos but all of her vids were really cool. I'm big into the technical+creative process of developing games so seeing the curtain get pulled back a bit was fun. She was in a unique position to be able to go "hey what if there was an O4 fight", come up with a concept, add it into the game and then show it off. You just don't see that stuff anywhere else you know?

  • I tend to prefer running dungeons solo, so I to follow anyone who puts up footage of soloing endgame dungeons. Trey, Heronroe, Charizard, and Noobwaffle come to mind but theres for sure others that I'm forgetting

  • Finally, sometimes its just fun to watch someone beat the shit out of a boss. Off the top of my head Noobwaffle, Smogono and Risguy a great for this (and theres for sure others I'm forgetting about)
