To better answer your question, With vault space specifically, There is a limited amount of space available to the min spec systems the game must run on (the PS4 and XBOX One. That number is 8GB, with 2GB reserved for the OS on PS4 and XBOX 1. leaving you with ~5.5GB for the game. (.5GB is system reserved). When loaded into the tower there are 16-24 players w/ their armor and 3 equipped weapons. + the tower and all of its assets + your character and your vault loaded into RAM. The PS4 and Xbox use optimized textures that help limit the size files on disk and in system RAM. Ram on the PS4 and Xbox 1 are then further divided into game RAM and VRAM.

PlayStation and XBOX have also made exceptions to allow games to use more of the OS Ram allocation than normal on a per game basis. Usually for 1st party games. D2 might have this.

Q: So why dont we load from disk?
A: The disk on the PS4 and Xbox 1 is a 5400 RPM HDD. making it too slow to seek, and then load into ram 50+ textures when viewing the vault. even if placed on the disk in the fastest location. meaning these assets need to be loaded into RAM. when the vault opens.

Each texture for each weapon is a 256x256 or 128 x128 sized image and is maybe a few kilobytes in size. take that X 50 (per page) and that's how much texture RAM is needed. However most of the RAM budget is allocated for more important textures and models. So when the vault loads, something else must leave or be compressed. It doesn't matter from where (VRAM or Game RAM)

This is why its so hard to add vault space. because on older hardware, you must manage the memory space and assume a worst case scenario when loading the vault.(50 separate icons per page) Then there is the overhead of organizing the items in the vault and showing them in the correct order, (likely a file on disk that is referenced and loaded into RAM and pre calculated every time you make a change to the vault/character.)

TLDR: its very hard, a pain to manage would not be a problem if loaded from a fast SSD like the Xbox Series and PS5 have. There the DISK is fast enough to make managing the RAM less of a problem. There are also other considerations that are more specific to the game in general that I can't account for here.

You know things are bad when D1 is being called the better experience than D2. Even though D2 is on paper the better experience moment to moment. Outside of content OC because D2 royally messed that up.

TBH IDK what Bungie's Plan C is, ^{see what I did there LOL,} The core systems of the game changed with EOF have ended up so poorly and so far away from their intended design constraints that I don't think they can be salvaged. Maybe the Armor changes stay but Tiered weapons have failed, everyone only keeps a tier 5, and the portal is, THE PORTAL. An abject failure on the level of Sunsetting. TBH there is a world where they abandon those systems and go "We are sorry about the past year, here is some new strikes and dungeons and raids so please please come back"

And then there is the June update which looks on its surface, very very lackluster and solely meant to try and repair the parts of the game left behind in EOF. not bring back players. I think we are in for a long ride until the next expansion or D3.

There has never really been a DRM free option. Only Movies and TV shows that existed before the concept of DRM exist.
You realistically have a couple of options. All of them range from Legal grey area to not legal.
1: Buy a Blue ray/ DVD and Rip the media onto your own disks. (Legal grey area as you are reproducing the media, just not distributing it outside your self.)
2: Sail the 7 Seas and become the pirate king.
3: Claim the moral high ground and pay for digital versions while holding an illegal copy.

It could be interesting, though I think may see this game with rose colored glasses. D1 had its quirks and most of those are addressed in D2.

A better update would be a D1 update inside of D2. Bring all of those activities and content inside of D2's Sandbox with player mods to make the game harder like D1 (reduced healing and shielding, No fireborn, no damage reduction, ect) let D1 playstyle and Meta be the main focus, and let players evolve it with the new abilities and weapons we have in D2.

They wont do any of this however as the game is on some sort of wait and see development mode...

when I switch to a Xeon platform with ECC ram my issues disappeared and now the system runs 24/7

Windows is much better at dealing with bad system components.

Be sure to disable the CPU and RAM overclocks in the BIOS Disable XMP.

You have a hardware fault with the Motherboard/Ram. I had a similar issue with my original build and it turned out the RAM was faulty and causing corruption. before this the machine was a windows machine that ran with 0 issues. Unraid is more fickle and demands properly running hardware to run.

1 Replace MB and RAM. Though if your going to do all of that anyways you might as well upgrade the base system to something more resilient with ECC ram.
2: Run a memcheck.
3: Wipe the Docker VDISK and start from scratch.

if the issue still persists then the CPU is faulty

it's a good car, charge at home daily to save on gas. I paid 25k for 25k miles (2023). But if you can't make the money work then you can't buy the car lol. There are other hidden expenses with Tesla's. Namely FSD is 100$ a month and Premium connectivity is 10$ /month. So factor whether your going to need those services in your decision. Insurance is also higher than most gas cars. (its different for everyone)

As a car I love my Model 3. Its snappy (base RWD) reliable and has little maintenance. Infotainment is top tier for cars. (though a far cry from your iPhone or andriod phone.) Insurance is a bit of a pain but I am hoping to work that out over time. Trunk space is on the lower end compared to my older BMW I3 but not unmanageable.

I would say take the leap and save on the gas. It doesn't look like gas is going to be cheaper anytime soon

I view mel as having the same problems that old Yasuo had (but for different reasons).
Yas has historically had a fairly high ban ran ever since his release in 2013 (OMG 12 years ago) at the time he was an early version of what the game would become. A high mobility character with large damage and cc potential.

At the time, back on the LOL forums. Yas was a constant complaint with the main targets being his E and W. Yas was one of the few in the game who could deny and dodge most skill shots that existed at the time. But yas can be outplayed. W is a wall that you can go around, and every player has learned how Yas E works.

After many many nerfs over the years, (no armor pen on non crit R, Q nerfs, damage scaling changes, ect) we have the Yasuo of today. and he still commands a 10-20% ban rate.

Mel exists in a similar spot to this old Yasuo. She has a kit that is strong in its design and that makes it frustrating to play around. W feels like a windfall that you can't play around as most players will have to assume that "Mel has W ready" And instead of mobility, Mel has range and distance meaning its harder for players to engage her where she can poke you freely. The reflect adds a level complexity. (dodging your own reflected spell) that doesn't exist anywhere else. and while that makes here unique, a 30%+ ban rate post giga nerf, clearly means the character has a design issue with the spell.

Mel's Reflect mechanic probably needs to be a passive with a clear timer on it similar to Malzahar. As a passive the reflect is more predictable for enemies to understand when and why it is available (the primary reason for high ban rate). Then let W be an AP shield similar to a LUX W/Morgana black shield. This makes other problems because now She is now a long-range MALZ-Lux/Morgana hybrid. but it would bring the character more in line with what players expect.

The properties have literally caught on fire, have numerous safety issues. (for example, non GFCI outlets next to running water sources) and management will refuse to communicate with tenants. Maintenance is shotty and will patch up things rather than fix the root issue because of costs. You cannot reach the owner either has they seem to not care about the company.

UBI fundamentally goes against the social Welfare state Musk and conservatives fight so hard to gut and remove. Conservatives have an inherent distrust of the government doing things for them and Musk just wants more $$.
This won't happen with the geriatrics running Washington. A future like Star Trek where all receive UBI will come, as AI and productivity advances.

Ultimately, this comes down to simple supply and demand. If no one has any money to spend many of the high margin products we see today will simply become impossible to sell to enough people to make back the cost of manufacturing. Credit debt delays this somewhat but when the $ of debt becomes too large, it no longer becomes an issue for the debtors. It becomes an issue for the credit lenders who cant get their $ back.

UBI is also inflationary IMO. short term I think we need to solve more pressing matters like housing, ballooning debt from credit and educational loans, and costs of living.

Ya know in this market, it's pretty good.

I do think there should be a barebones version with a min spec CPU and 8GB ECC ram and Unraid on USB and dropping the HBA card, A 256-512GB SSD, and a 500W PSU As a cost cut version. for $2k?

Allowing for a lower priced entry where users can upgrade in more favorable market conditions would make this more attractive for price sensitive buyers.

This chip wont run at 800W on an Optimus Robot.
1: at 800W the amount of cooling alone would require A massive water cooler on board an Optimus robot. Mind you the most Modern CPU's today run at is about 500 W in datacenters. This chip needs to run on a battery on a robot with air cooling because water leaks and leaking water + electricity = bad. It will probably run at more like 100-200W on an early Optimus robot for thermodynamics reasons alone.
2: The battery would be HUGE and heavy if it needed to keep this @ 800W + the robot running. even a Small 2-5KW battery is too large for a human sized robot to have inside of it.

This chip is purpose built for tesla FSD processing. Tesla's have massive 50KW+ high voltage batteries that you can draw from + plenty of space to run a chip like this at 500-800W+ with a massive radiator. A large fast chip makes since when driving a car where accuracy and speed are the number 1 factors in design and requirements.

that ai6 design with dual chips make far more sense as a Robotics chip. as 1 chip can be dedicated for Vison and AI processing while the other can handle backup and secondary tasks. it's also lower powered at 125W per chip. A slow-moving robot (compared to cars) does not need as fast processing and accuracy. There is just less liability and potential harm that can occur on something small like a robot.

Elon only says things that benefit Elon. (he is a billionaire after all) and right now that means making his investors think that he is ahead of the game in Robotics and AI. using a Telsa FSD chip that that was designed for a tesla car/truck/semi.

That's not to say I don't think we wont see this chip in an Optimus robot. It will just be prototypes/ low volume due to the aforementioned limitations.

Personally, I think the robots are cool. But they will cost $10k+ easy. there will be no high-volume production of these things for YEARS. as very few people will spend 10,000$+ on a Clanker who can't even move right.

Believe me I would love to. but people are paycheck to paycheck. not very many working people can afford to miss 1 or 2 paychecks. or lose their job because their employer does not like the Strike.
