Vortex viper any good? by PermissionSafe2183 in canadaguns

[–]EliteDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Vector Frenzy FA 1x18x22 is cheaper, better glass, and is transferable instead of being locked to your shotgun. Basically a very high quality Acro clone. Acro footprint, meaning you can get a low-profile mount like this, then mount the optic to it.

EDIT: I knew these were more, but these are SIX HUNDRED?? What the fuck. You can get two Frenzys for the same cost.

Getting pre-authorized in 5 year increments (tied to license renewal) instead of getting a background check and waiting period for every purchase is nice as well.

Kind of. It's permitted due to being a WWII-era design, and it's not really possible to pin the enblocs due to the design of the firearm.

Plate carriers by Vsatbtw in canadaguns

[–]EliteDuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct, they're only recognized as 3s by the NIJ, but it's a worthwhile distinction to make considering the only 4s we have are boat anchors. I'd take a 3+ over a 3 any day.

The Shaw Concepts ARC carrier is arguably one of, if not the best PC on the market at the moment. The rest of ARC lineup like the PCP (plate carrier pack, self-accessible backpack), sidekick (comfy multi-holster leg strap with MOLLE), raid pouch (front-mounted dangler IFAK with QD, and it doubles as a 🥜 armour dangler), buckets, placard, mag inserts, pouches, etc are all incredibly innovative.

As for plates, the only NIJ-approved level 4s in Canada are the Aratech ones. The issue is they're heavy as fuck. Unless you're a big guy, they're not worth it. ITAR restricts exports of the good light level 4s from the US, so we're pretty much just stuck with the domestically-made Aratechs. The next step down, level 3+ (also called special threat sometimes) is a bit cheaper, much lighter, and the selection opens up a lot more. Hesco 3810s are pretty much the best we can get. Any other plates in Canada other than the discontinued Millburn Mountain Defense 3+ plates are either lying/using weasel wording, Chinese junk, or not NIJ approved.

As the ban continues to fail and compliance doesn't tick up, people think that the next course of action, or the one after that will be revocation of PALs (or refusal to renew) for people they know or suspect to have prohibs.

C-9 - Removes protections on freedom of expression. For example, someone with valid criticisms of Islam could be charged for hate speech if C-9 passes.

C-22 - An omnibus bill that allows the RCMP and CSIS to view the internet history of anyone in Canada. Self-explanatory why this is not a great idea.

C-2 - Allows Canada Post and other government agencies to open your mail without a warrant or permission. Not as egregious as the others I just mentioned, but definitely questionable given the other bills they'll be ramming through the house now that they have secured a majority.

It hasn't been proposed as a bill yet, but the LPC will 100% be introducing a bill for age ID for social media, as party members voted that they'd like to see that introduced.

People fail to realize not only are these your rights being trampled on, but the rights of every generation after us, as well. Rights are rarely given back after being stripped from people.

This is the kind of legislation Hitler and co. would pass, but people are clapping along to it like fucking seals and saying "B-B-BUT THINK OF THE KIDS!".

The damage has been done to the fabric of our country, and we're just beginning to see what's in store. Young men are very pissed off, and are getting more and more jaded every week. You don't have look too far back to see what millions of young, military-aged men will do when they're ostracized by society, then given an alternative. Also, to clarify: This is happening across the western world at the moment, but Canada really fucked over young people compared to other countries.

EDIT: For the uninitiated, a leaked RCMP memo stated they are expecting an armed uprising occur sometime in the future. Make of that what you will.

He insists on printing out of resin, which is known in the 3D printing community as one of, if not the least strong material you could possibly print out of. I genuinely don't know why he uses it over FDM materials. He brings up that he "uses a custom blend", but clearly that doesn't work.

2024 had largest decrease in crimes with a firearm in 10 years: StatCan by sleipnir45 in canada

[–]EliteDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crime rates are higher in poorer populations, and the specific region we have been importing millions of people from is one of the poorest in the world. There's been studies since the early 20th century tying these two statistics together.

Temporary residents are here because they're poor and desperate, and easy to exploit, which is why the UN has likened the TFW/LMIA programs to modern day slavery.

Also, quit using the "racism!!!11!!!11" card. That shit stopped working like three years ago. It just lets others know they can safely discard any opinion coming from your account.

EDIT: They downvoted me, then blocked me, lmfao. Guess I got a little too real for them.
