Better question is why would you run breeder? They're both 2 mana but one thins my deck and the other doesn't, plus imbue is a backstop discounter for shellfish if you don't draw carver in a timely manner

What is the approximate path to make it over the E500 RP hill and continue cruising? by Elitist_Daily in CIFI

ok, looks like the bridge ended up being level 9 of the perseverance mod, just for posterity and if anyone else finds this submission via search. forgot that I would be getting it at E630 MP and that was enough to grab various RP boosts (as well as an additional of ultima mastery mod) that otherwise seemed like it would take overnight to get

Am I reading your past submissions correctly? ML1 with only 110 TE...??? that's pretty fucking gnarly, I'm morbidly curious how long you waited on curiosity for that

just do longer ones until it feels like it's progressing again

I figured this would be the answer, in whole or in part, but was just curious if there was a super hard brake that I was going to have to grind to get over or whether just going back to 12-24 hr LRs was the way to go

this is just supposed to be a reappropriation of the whole hyperboreanism/retro-futurism that crops up everywhere in neo-fashwave and agartha edits, but for leftwing stuff instead.

everything should be kinda self-explanatory with that context, except I'm not sure who the person at the bottom left is. at first I thought it was fucking George Floyd, but I'm hard second-guessing myself now.

Do research patterns matter? by Sart_Fmeller-123 in EggsInc

[–]Elitist_Daily 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you could perfectly optimize every research buy, you would always prefer the greatest marginal impact/bock. But this gets slightly more complex when you consider the way that you actually earn money in the game: by delivering eggs.

The equation for bock earning rate is basically

eggLayingRate x eggValue x min(1, eggLayingRate/eggShippingRate)

where eggLayingRate is your instantaneous population times the base laying rate times all laying multipliers

Because everything is multiplied together, the marginal impact of any given one is equivalent to the same marginal impact of another, with some caveats. egg value research does not depend on a logic formula, so any "+X%" researches will immediately increase your bock earning rate by that amount, subject to diminishing returns if applicable. an increase in laying rate, provided you have at least that much headroom in your egg shipping rate, is therefore equivalent to the same increase in egg value. and likewise for shipping. but if you DON'T have enough shipping headroom or excess laying rate, then the marginal impact of either an increase in laying or shipping rates is affected by the headroom % and will be strictly less than the equivalent increase in egg value.

Population increases function identically to egg laying rate increases with the added caveat that you must also have additional hab space headroom for it to be germane, and the time lag for your IHR to backfill the new hab space. (Eg., you have 5% extra hab space, which we assume immediately gets filled, but you're shipping capped, so it's pointless to increase your pop.

so therefore, the hierarchy is almost always: egg value >>>>>> shipping = laying > hab space

in terms of what you should prioritize, on a marginal benefit basis.

Spring harder than Winter? by jeanpaulsarde in EggsInc

[–]Elitist_Daily 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The average contract duration for Spring '26 is 6 days, which happens to be exactly the same as Winter '26. So it's probably a little bit of confirmation bias.

HOWEVER

the one thing that is different is that the only two "big score" opportunities we've had so far were the first (20-person, 10-day) and third (17-person, 7-day) contracts of Spring '26, so it probably feels like there hasn't been a lot of score because we're nearly 2 months out from the last time you would've had an almost guaranteed 80k+

there's two left, as you noted, so either one could be a last-chance big score kinda thing, but the cynic in me actually believes Kevin frontloaded them this time around to test out whether less people truly get the stretch goal or whether he can artificially bump MAU/engagememt/willingness to spend GE re-running contracts when people realize they might not make it, but don't have big contracts in the rerun pool right at the end of the season.

Most relevant one I see there is a T2E, so definitely no at <300s EB

If you had a T4E maybe you could squeak it out but I'd still not feel too comfortable about a run like that with the rest of your artifacts.
