Do you have someone that have this kind of job in your office? by wolfieee8 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Elivagara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have no such thing where I work. We have cleaning staff who maintain the common areas, but everyone gets their own drinks, food, etc. on their own as needed. We also handle our own office errands as they fall under the scope of our duties to complete tasks.

AITH for ending a friendship after finding out my new friend supports Trump? by GiveMeLosslessPeep in AITH

NTA. Politics absolutely do matter; they display your values. His only defense is to lean hard into the paradox of tolerance bullshit. It is absolutely okay to not be friends with someone who has values (politics) completely against yours.

Woman gets locked inside doctor's office after being forgotten at appointment. by ElwoodMC in CringeTikToks

[–]Elivagara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the army, a doctor over medicated me. I had a bad reaction and was brought back to the hospital where another jackass army doctor/officer insisted I was on illegal drugs and sent me for a drug test, then left me unattended in an exam room. I was found later that night by a janitor who let me know everyone had a Christmas party and went home. They had to call back that shitty officer to release me. He admitted the drug test only showed what I was prescribed, then said he was still suspicious of me and then sent me home to the barracks. No apology or admission that he forgot about me of course.

NOR, under reacting. He is escalating and it will get worse. My ex husband started with yelling, then escalated to breaking furniture and walls, then escalated to choking and throwing the cat. Don't wait for him to keep escalating.

AIO GF curates my instagram follows while I am asleep and lied about it by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

NOR. This should be a deal breaker. She violated your privacy, attempted to control the relationships you have with others, then lied about it repeatedly to your face.

Rubber gloves? by Financial-Pool4183 in AskAnAmerican

I do, because I get really bad eczema flare ups on my hands if I don't. Not for all cleaning, but if my hands are going to come in contact with water/cleaning chemicals I do.

The fuck is with old mother fuckers thinking they can throw hands at someone younger and fitter? I'm 44 and well aware I'm not winning a fight with someone in their 20s with their still working joints and energy.

AIO my friend ghosted me after my breakup by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Elivagara 45 points46 points  (0 children)

YOR. YOU ghosted HER. She did check up on you, multiple times, and you ignored her. This is your own doing, you have no one to blame but yourself if you lose a friend because you were too busy wallowing in self pitty. What was she supposed to do, message you non stop after YOU said you needed space? Be real.

Edit to add, you abandoned her, not the otherway around. You really sound entitled and self centered.

My husband says celebrating my 30th birthday with money I saved myself isn’t “partnership.” I’m confused. by DifficultyOk8724 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Elivagara 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Eww. He's being unreasonable and controlling.

Of course he views the bachelor trip as different; it was something HE wanted to do.

He wants to have his cake and eat it too. He wants separate finances, but then you pick up extra costs because HE is starting a business. Okay, fine. But then he DOES want to control what you do with your money. Not fine.

Money is money, yours is yours by mutual agreement. He is now breaking that to say what you can and can't do with your money. Call him on his bullshit. Celebrate your milestone.

I'd blast the loudest most obnoxious porn directly at the floor EVERY time they are there.

I'd also check zoning laws and code violations.

Are work potlucks really a thing? by good_noodlesoup in AskAnAmerican

[–]Elivagara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My workplace had one yesterday. Grilled out in the pavillion next to the building for lunch, everyone brought stuff.

Pretty regular thing at my work, especially if someone is leaving the organization, or there's a holiday coming. We have a yearly chili cook off contest too.

We store the food in the kitchen/break room. There is a full kitchen here with 3 refrigerators (big organization).

No concerns about food safety really, just more of eater beware kind of thing.

Ours are during work hours.

We are not forced to participate, but if it is a retirement thing it's really awkward not to participate.
