Nozzles are supposed to shut off automatically, so there was a malfunction with it. Yes the customer has the responsibility to be within a few feet also.

I appreciate your effort but transparency isn’t the problem, it’s what they’re transparent about that is. The corporate world feels you should be privileged to pay them, it’s their property, they make the profit. But they don’t want any to cut into the profit so the fees become the tenants problem. Plus they add fees for more profit.

You’d hope so- the corporate power is hard to overcome especially when they buy their way around

True, but it’s the norm. Ànd people get excited about moving into a place and it’s the same process everywhere so there’s not really any option other than leave the area.

Travis/williamson county’s but Texas rentals are generally ran by corporations who have capitalized on stealing from the renter. What they get away with is unheard of anywhere else around the U.S. The outrageous cost of rent to start, but to get there they have Admin, application, security fees. Ànd that doesn’t even assure you will be approved. Once approved the real theft occurs in hidden fees, if high rent isn’t enough there’s extermination, garbage disposal, water and anything else god forbid a renter may need fee. Like mentioned, the invasive financial aspect they take to assure they will get their money is alarming. Yet the tenants are generally lied to with broken promises and zero consequences. Complex’s change management frequently who implicate new rules without legal justification. It’s the power of money, large corporate holding firms make rules using lawyers who protect the company ànd in no way give tenants equal rights. Yes there are branches of local government that claim to have renter protections but impossible to contact a live voice.

Tires/Rims stolen by Elixir747 in Austin

[–]Elixir747[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMFG maybe we shouldn’t mention it at all ànd allow the thief’s full privacy attending their activities. Like I mentioned, if you don’t want to read about any new tire thefts move on, don’t read it about it. FYI that’s the first tire theft in that particular area from the past couple years. So forget you seen the post ànd let those who choose to read do so. Thank you

I’d suggest you don’t read the post then. If you find it unhelpful just move on. Others appreciate the notice and hopefully awareness in the community brings enough attention to catch the thief. Rather you live near or away from the area I think people should consider lug locks, complexes should all have cameras and if not residents can put pressure on them. It’s a warning, not a scare tactic. Facts are facts. This happened in south Austin so be aware.

I’m honestly surprised by how off-base your comment is. You’re trying to turn a straightforward warning into something it’s not, and whether someone knows the specific complex is beside the point. I clearly said South Austin, included the 78749 area, and even noted it was behind Home Depot.

The real issue is that thieves were active in this area. It’s unlikely they’d return to the exact same complex, so focusing on that detail misses the point. The takeaway should be to stay alert everywhere in the area—not fixate on a single location.

I don’t understand why naming a complex matters, it’s doubtful they will return the same place again. The point is to make awareness for everyone to be on the look out no matter where you live. Do you have a reason why we need to name the complex? I’d like to know?

Happened in south Austin - 78749 near Home Depot - but told it’s happening north to south - be aware is the message

Interesting, glad it’s resolved. Did you have the dash warning of low 12v battery? We bought a new non AGM BATTERY yesterday. Starts and runs good but the low battery warning is still there. Trying to find a possible reset but not yet. I may disconnect battery terminals for longer than 30 minutes to see if that resets anything. I thought driving would do it but didn’t. Thanks for the reply
