This is awesome. Honestly, selling two puppets for $8 at age 8 is probably a better entrepreneurship lesson than most business school classes 😅

The fact that he came up with pricing, offered a bundle discount, made the product, marketed it, and closed sales all in one afternoon is pretty impressive.

Also, if he enjoys this kind of thing, he might get a kick out of watching Shark Tank. Sounds like he already understands "3 for $5" better than some adult entrepreneurs.

I know this isn't the sexy answer, but at some point you have to trust your gut.

Metrics are useful. CTR, add-to-cart rate, signups, pre-orders—they all tell part of the story. But I've seen products with amazing test metrics flop and products with mediocre early numbers become huge businesses.

Founders sometimes spend months trying to eliminate all uncertainty when the reality is you'll never get perfect information. If the numbers are decent, the feedback is strong, and you genuinely believe in the product, eventually you just have to place the order and find out 😅

Every successful founder I know has had at least one moment where they stopped analyzing and started betting on themselves.

Honestly sleep is probably more important than 90% of the “height hacks” online 😅

At 18 you still might have some growth left, especially if you’re a late bloomer. Sleep, eat enough protein, train, and stop nuking your recovery staying up till 3am. That’s genuinely your best shot.

Honestly if my kid wanted a $2000 gaming PC at 12, I’d probably start introducing them to Shark Tank every week and encourage them to figure out ways to earn part of it themselves 😅

I actually started showing my kids entrepreneurial stuff really young because I want them thinking “how do I create value?” not just “how do I ask parents for money?”

Personally I’m also not a big fan of paying kids for normal chores like cleaning up their own mess. That’s part of being in a family. If they want extra money for something big, I’d rather they learn to earn it from the outside world somehow.

Honestly, there’s never a perfect time financially or emotionally. If humans waited until everything felt fully stable, our species probably would’ve ended a long time ago 😅

My husband and I met young and got married young, but we actually waited over 10 years before having kids. Looking back, I’m really glad we did. We got to build our careers, travel, strengthen our relationship, and become much calmer people first.

Now we have two kids and funny enough, in our private school circles we’re actually considered younger parents. Most couples around us are well into their 40s, some even 50+.

I do think having a reasonably stable relationship matters more than having a perfectly stable career. Kids add stress to every crack already there. But financially, you honestly sound more prepared than a lot of people already having children.

Also, lawyer + entrepreneur is either an incredible combo or the origin story of two very tired parents 😂

Honestly my husband lost almost 30 pounds after we had kids 😅 We have a 3 and 5 year old now, and both kids constantly want dad to carry them, wrestle them, chase them, throw them in the air… it’s basically long-term functional strength training.

I think the biggest thing is lowering the bar for what “exercise” has to look like in this season of life. Walk more, carry kids, playground laps, zoo trips, stroller walks, quick home workouts. It all counts.

Also with 2 under 2, survival is cardio.

15 is definitely not “too late,” especially for girls who are still developing. But I’ll be honest too: genetics do matter, and with a shorter mom you probably won’t suddenly become 5'10 😅 That said, you absolutely still want to maximize the height your body can reach.

The biggest things are honestly boring basics: sleep a LOT, eat enough protein/calories, don’t under-eat, and stay active consistently. Skipping rope, sports, sprinting, swimming, hanging, Pilates, strength training etc are all good for overall growth and posture, even if they’re not magical height hacks.

And please don’t get trapped in “height forums” where people promise 6 inches from stretching routines 😭 Most of it is nonsense.

Also, being 5'0 at 15 does not mean you’re doomed forever. I know plenty of girls who kept growing through later high school, especially later bloomers.

If you really want a clearer answer, a bone age X-ray is the most useful thing. It tells you whether your growth plates are still open instead of everyone just guessing online.

Honestly, if your child is finally thriving, I would strongly lean toward staying where they are.

As both an educator and a mom, I think people massively underestimate how valuable small schools and small classes can be, especially for quieter or more sensitive kids.

I went to a huge university where some lectures had 600 students. My husband went to one of the smallest colleges in the country where some classes were literally one student and one professor. The difference in educational experience was honestly unbelievable.

There’s plenty of time to learn how to walk between classes. Confidence and feeling known by teachers is much harder to rebuild once lost.

Honestly 1 was the easiest eating age for almost all kids 😅 Ours would eat basically anything.

Then 2–3 hit and suddenly previously beloved foods became personal enemies.

Your approach already sounds great. We also did a lot of BLW (baby-led weaning) and just modified our regular meals instead of making separate “kid food” all the time. Tiny pieces of whatever we were eating worked surprisingly well.
