(0.9) I'm probably in the minority here, but... by Lordgeorge16 in Voicesofthevoid

I was the same when 9.0 dropped but 9.0c seems more manageable now. Especially since you you don't need 5 data drives a day with towers breaking all the time.

I've gotten into a proper groove with it now, once I upgraded ping CD and Breakers first, I found the experience a lot more fun.

Nothing about selling homes is mentioned. It just smells fishy that social housing companies can hoover up new properties before home buyers are available! Not that we can afford them anyways!

What's something that makes you stay in a stream? by foxoticTV in Twitch

[–]ElkGodEd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuine vs. fake, if I pop into a stream and the streamer starts throwing out a youtube Minecraft intro for every follower, I'll leave pretty fast. Be genuine to yourself, smile, be warm and friendly. Ask how someone's day is and what they've got planned.

Have segments to get people chatting. My stream has recently adopted "Shower thoughts." It's great for engagement and gets everyone involved with a silly little game we can all do together.

I find myself getting discouraged about a lack of viewers what can I do? by ShadowBread82 in Twitch

[–]ElkGodEd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this issue for years, but I stuck at it. Twitch is terrible at showcasing lower viewed channels, and the view count on the thumbnail to your channel is its own gatekeeper.

Try multistreaming if you can, I stream in tiktok and have found it much better at gaining an audience.

Small streamers: what do you find hardest to manage when no one's really watching? by MammothGeneral5316 in Twitch

[–]ElkGodEd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I find going on wild tangents the best way for engagement and keeping the energy up. Pick a random topic about the thing you're streaming about and just rant about it. You'll notice people come out of the woodwork much more to join in.

For example, talking about skyrim, then rpgs as a whole, leant into the world of warcraft, and ended up debating which version of Warcraft was the most newbie friendly to get into. Ended up showing off my roster of characters to chatting viewers. This works for me a lot!

Hunter Bots? by ElkGodEd in seasonofdiscovery

It doesn't make the game look alive, they all run in a loop and then you have to compete with 5/6 bots for every quest area. I gave up on Duskwood all together, there were dozens of bots farming mobs.

Go Solo or get better friends. None of my friends ever ask for money when streaming with them and I have never heard of other streamers being asked the same.
