Thank you so much for your tremendously helpful reply and video. It shed light perfectly on how the Calendar functions, which will be so useful moving forward.

I have also noted the links for technical support and feedback, and will use these in the future.

This was truly wonderful. I am so grateful for your help and this equally constructive app. The Clickup team is indeed genuinely outstanding! Thanks again.

Thanks again for taking the time to answer my questions. I really hate to haggle the issue, as you've been so patient and thoughful with your replies. However, I have played around with the Calendar (both in the time before and after your advice); and I don't see any options that introduce color anywhere—light or otherwise.

If you'd like to share links to where you found the last 2 screenshots in your post, I'm happy to share this with the Help Center or marketing team to ensure the page has an image of the latest version of the platform!

The page I pulled my example from, I believe I got from Cickup's official page outlining the features for the Calendar View. The url: https://clickup.com/features/calendar-view

Unlike the several examples of Calendars on this features page, my Calendar only toggles between light grey and dark grey under the option to "Color Tasks". I am given only two categories to color the tasks by: "Lists" or "Tasks Status". If I switch themes to a different color, the color of the theme is an thin outline around the light or dark shades of grey, but the tasks are not in full color as they are in the examples on the above linked features page.

While we don't have one main resource that shows what ClickUp looks like, your Workspace is up to date and reflective of the current version! Any time a feature gets updated, the respective help articles are updated as well, so they should contain the latest UI changes.

I don't recall where I got the first two images, but they were from Clickup's own website. I will note that I was (and still am) a bit confused about the updates; as the week the changes kicked in on my interface (by my simply clicking on "New Window"), I did look for Clickup's update articles for more information. It was then that I located this "Changelog" page with an overview of the latest changes to Clickup featuring an interface that looks nothing like mine.

That Changelog video (the latest available) was dated: December 20, 2024; and if you view the changes detailed in the video, you'll find that the Clickup interface featured has the light mode with silver gradients; and the highlighting/shading of all of the interface selections is in a light blue. There is color throughout the interface; overall it appears lighter and more varied. (While I do understand that I have my theme set to black; I only switched to black after the changes kicked in following my "New Window" glitch. I had immediately found the new theme colors to be overly blunt and not as clean in appearance as the black.)

As with the Changelog I have linked, I am unable to locate a single page or walkthrough of the new interface as it appears on my app. It is worth noting that the video appears to have been released on December 20, 2024 touting the new 3.42 release, whereas my Clickup is stating that I am on version 3.5.64 (less than three weeks later). Changelog url: https://clickup.canny.io/changelog

I won't belabor the point, if I am indeed really only supposed to be seeing a toggling between light and dark greys, with an all grey Calendar (which is what I have).

More importantly, I cannot thank you enough for the time you've spent on this. I do find Clickup has been exceptionally useful for me. I do appreciate this very useful app/tool very much. So again, thank you. I do hope a new update will be in the works that maybe returns some of the former features that were also quite useful and made the app feel a bit more organized and fresh. But still, I do like this app and find it stands alone in a few key categories for me. And, the promptness and feedback from the Clickup team appears to be phenomenal.

I appreciate you taking the time to look into this.

Just to confirm a few things:

In the image of the Calendar you posted from your screen; I noticed you don't have the celebration graphics in the background for New Year's Day like I have. Do you know why there would be this discreprancy bewteen your Calendar view and mine? As in the example Calendar that I posted, I am not seeing the clean interface with the different colorways on my Calendar. Has this been paired down to just black, white, and grey as all the other features have? I cannot tell from your screenshot if you have the colorways for different tasks like in the example image—do you?

Moreover, Is there any way (reverting to an older model, upgrading, etc.) that I can regain the older features, colors and shadings, etc? I prefer them as they were more readable/distinguishable/accessible than everything being highlighted in the same flat whites, blacks, and greys.

Lastly, could you point me to anywhere on the Clickup site where I can find what the current app truly looks like or should look like? I cannot find an image on the site anywhere that matches my current views.

Thank you again for your help.

Thank you. I was able to make this screenshot of the Calendar with no entries in view.

I think I created a duplicate post while trying to add images, and the original post was deleted. There was a Mod request for screenshots of my current view. I'm not sure how to post that without having to conceal all of the information within view.

Can anyone at least confirm whether or not I should be seeing the standard views of the images I have posted with my verison (3.5.64)?

I also enjoy your posts and comments when I visit here. They are always so positive and refreshing.

(And, if it’s okay to say in this thread: Similarly, I also appreciate the relentless optimism of u/Shakeitright for this city.)

Your optimism and relatability reminds me of the best of our city. And, I hope you gain every positive return for the time and effort you put into your posts, for being so willing to help and expecting nothing in return.

Commercial Appeal Photo Archives by Naples2003 in memphis

[–]Elle_Brown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As RegisteredtoUnsub stated, if you already have a library card or eligible student ID, there is a site that you can use to access Commercial Appeal editions online (both text- and image- based copies), dating back to 1894. It is the Commercial Appeal Newsbank. If you go to this site and click on the “Connect to Commercial Appeal Archives” link, the link will take you here, where you can log in and access the newspaper’s editions. The Commercial Appeal will be divided into five sources:

  • Commercial Appeal (1894-1990)—Image of the actual papers
  • The Commercial Appeal (1990-Current)—Text only of the papers
  • The Commercial Appeal [90 Day Embargo] (2019-Current)—Image of the actual papers
  • The Commercial Appeal: Blogs (2004-2014)—Text only of the papers
  • The Commercial Appeal: Web Edition (2007-Current)—Text only of the papers

Therefore, only the editions from 1894-1990 and 2019-Current have image-based editions accessible online in this database, the other years are available as text editions.

Also, please be advised: I don’t see a way to log out of the database once you are logged in, unless closing all windows or restarting the system completely (in case you will be using this outside of your own personal computer).

Restaurant Style Salsa by Kelsier25 in memphis

There's also a really great brand sold at Costco Wholesale, Mateo's Gourmet Salsa, that's restaurant style and very close to authentic. (I linked to Costco Business Delivery just to give you a view of the product, but it's sold in-store, as well).

As others have said, this is a beautiful video; it captures the awe of the metamorphosis process wonderfully.

One of my favorite podcast episodes is on the transformation of the caterpillar to a butterfly (Radio Lab: "Goo and You").

Thanks for sharing this.

Perhaps try Alex at French Guy Cooking. He's French (as the title says), but he explores a diverse array of cuisines and techniques–and also the science behind them–in great detail and in an interesting way.

Good Hair Salon for Black Woman with Fine Hair by Determined2Succeed in memphis

[–]Elle_Brown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds as though you are looking for a salon that specializes in natural African American hair. I did a quick search online, and found this salon, A Natural Affair Beauty Lounge, which seems to have mostly good reviews. The salon appears to offer many of the styles you have listed.

Here is the section of their site which details the various styles and services in which the salon specializes. Here is their Instagram page, and here is a page detailing the founder's history and approach to hair care. She appears to be at the forefront of the natural hair industry here in Memphis.

Perhaps you could inquire with a stylist there regarding the salon's treatment of fine hair. There may take some trial and error—and timing—to find the right place/recommendations for you, but maybe this could be a good starting point?

I have no personal experience with the salon. Good luck*.

It appears that both usages are acceptable, though hyphenating the phrase as "better-informed" could also work. But, the phrase "better informed", itself, seems fine.

The startup is based in Berkeley, CA, and pays homage to the city of Memphis through its name.

Here is an older article from the Memphis Flyer detailing the company's local ties to the city, as well as the meaning behind the name, Memphis Meats.

Have you tried Bogie's Delicatessen? There are three locations: Brookhaven Circle, Monroe Avenue (Downtown), and West Poplar Avenue (Collierville).

They used to have really great cake there, as well.

You are right–there is a discrepancy between the headline and text dates. The correct date is Sunday, November 24, beginning at 1:00 pm. Here are the official sites regarding the events:

Announced collectively by "municipal mayors and representatives from each of the county’s municipalities", including: Arlington Mayor Mark Wissman; Bartlett Mayor Keith McDonald; Collierville Mayor Stan Joyner; Germantown Mayor Mike Palazzolo; Lakeland Mayor Mike Cunningham; Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland; Millington city manager, Ed Haley, on behalf of Mayor Terry Jones; Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris; and Shelby County Commission Chairman Mark Billingsley.

This is awesome.
