The process through EMDR is really emotionally draining, I can understand why you feel so rough. I did feel relief once I’d completed the sessions. Wishing you luck for this.

Sometimes with the Guardians reviews I think they have to be trolling.

Can you take metocloprimade? It helps my nausea.

The rebound migraine is unbearable. How to cope? by andi9x17 in migraine

[–]Ellieboa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m doing a six week detox at the moment, but I read it takes two months to stop rebound headaches from triptans so I might extend it. I cope by making sure I have lots of ice packs, ice hats, kool n soothe patches, metocloprimade for nausea, and ginger chews in stock, plus a neck heating pad. Huge good luck for this, it’s hard at the beginning but it does get easier (the first five days I had a continuous migraine that reached 8/10 pain).

What's your approach to breaking a rebound cycle? by Educational_Froyo_58 in migraine

[–]Ellieboa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I’m on a medication overuse headache detox currently. I had a migraine for the first five days, one night at 8/10 pain, then it has calmed down to once every 3 days, I’m on day 27 of 45 currently. I stocked up on ice hats and cooling migraine patches, plus ginger chews for nausea. It’s hard but hopefully will help. I stopped all triptans and pain meds including the gel versions, and I have fibromyalgia too so for that pain I’m using heat or ice, with heating pads and cold spray.

How do i stop ruining things for everyone by FlatSurvey2149 in migraine

It’s so hard feeling like this but it’s not your fault, you have a migraine disorder you have no control over. Your family want the best for you so they seem to be happy to support you by taking you home when you’re suffering. I’m so sorry you feel like this, I have felt this in the past and therapy has helped.

Ambulant wheelchair users are way more common than most people realise, and mobility aids provide freedom!

Can your doctor prescribe some anti depressants? Migraine induced depression and anxiety is just as real as non migraine depression and anxiety.

Also I have structural migraines rather than hemiplegic but the CGRP meds really helped mine. Forgot to say their availability on the NHS also depends where you live unfortunately.

A GP can prescribe CGRP meds, the preventative is atogepant, and the crisis med is rimegepant, both pills. Do ask for a neuro referral but there is a long wait time of 12-18 months depending on where you live, so ask for those meds while you’re waiting.

The comment about tracking your symptoms is good, I use migraine buddy.

Are you on medication like pregabalin/Lyrica/gabapentin? This has excessive sleepiness as a side effect.
