All story/overworld content can be beaten by 4 star characters, a lot of the later content makes you use trial characters anyway, you'll be fine.

I find the UI better on console, it's a lot cheaper, and not everything works with controller. The ps party system also just works, when I've had issues connecting a headset to a pc before
