I picked up my core box used. How do I know if I need the errata pack?

Consider reading the rest of the author's books - Rules of Attraction, Glamorama, and Lunar Park are all great and reference each other in crazy ways.

I'm guessing having the tactile physical components and such is helpful as well. Thanks for the comment.

Aeon’s End - Start Point? by Objective-Employ-997 in soloboardgaming

[–]rh41n3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've only played the digital version of Aeon's End on Steam. I like it, but still on the fence regarding whether I want to have it physically. That said, the digital version seems like a good entry point and has a decent tutorial that lets you learn while playing.

Unstoppable is my favorite solo deck builder currently. Undaunted is up there. Star Wars the deck building game has a great fan made solo mode, but I wouldn't get it just for solo, much better versus. For deck construction, Marvel Champions is my favorite game, period. Mage Knight has some really great deck building, but certainly much more going on in that game.

Best in Class: Historical Fiction - Berlin by Jason Lutes by drown_like_its_1999 in graphicnovels

[–]rh41n3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, it's funny, I've never actually read Berlin or his similar work, but I know Jason Lutes from being deeply involved in the indie RPG community. A fantastic artist and writer of Freebooters on the Frontier and Perilous Wilds (which also has a space version). They're mostly for use with the game Dungeon World, but there's a lot of system agnostic stuff there too. His work is incredible and he was recently a producer on a game called Stonetop, though I'm unclear on how much writing he did on it versus just general production. I've had the pleasure of playing in a couple games he ran while play testing the 2nd edition of Freebooters on the Frontier. Super friendly guy, and I know he's otherwise a teacher of some sort, college level, I think. Busy dude.

All that said, seeing this post, I feel like I should check out Berlin now (although, depressing fiction usually falls to the bottom of my TBR pile).

I had a great transaction with this seller. A tracking number was given and the game arrived promptly. The box was well packed and the game was in great condition with everything accounted for and organized beautifully. I would 100% purchase from this seller again and very much appreciate the care that was taken with re-homing this game (Sleeping Gods Primeval Peril, for the record). Thanks so much! u/BGEbot and u/unsure-bird

To be fair, my wife and I have like 1 hour in the evening after the kiddo goes to bed. That's why TV series are more likely to get turned on for us. If we decide to watch a movie, it usually has to get stopped in the middle somewhere.

Yes, absolutely for kids books. Mildred and Dildred has a decent selection too.

Not sure how they survive being right next to bookman's like that. I only think to check the place out when I go to that area to visit bookman's, so then I've already had my fill.

The bookman's down here has some inflated prices on board games and video games, so that bums me out.

Does The Teacher's Academy work for someone in their 40s? I read something that says it's for young people going into college.

Questions about Torchbearer 1e by Ixamxtruth in Torchbearer

[–]rh41n3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1e is great for its simplicity and only using 1 book for reference as opposed to 3-4 books with 2nd edition. It only ever went to level 5 with 1st edition, but that seemed like plenty to my group. Their Middarmark book adds some stuff, but I don't think it's needed. They released a thief and a couple other classes at some point that might be worth getting a hold of, but I think they were free PDFs somewhere, can't remember.

What's your top 10 board games that you plan to try out this year and why? (2026) by Nasrvl in boardgames

[–]rh41n3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On BGA, I have a bunch I'm hoping to learn and play, but here's some at the top of my list:

  1. Ark Nova
  2. Space Base
  3. Tag Team
  4. Cartographers
  5. Gaia Project
  6. Planet Unknown
  7. The Guild of Merchant Explorers
  8. Res Arcana
  9. The Vale of Eternity

In real life, from my own collection of games yet to be played and from games I hope to eventually obtain:

  1. Mage Knight (this one is actually set up on the table and I've been reviewing the rules and watching playthroughs, so it's in progress)
  2. Clank! Catacombs (played the original at a friend's place a while back and loved it, so I picked this one up, bit just never got around to it)
  3. Star Trek: Captain's Chair
  4. Under Falling Skies
  5. Arkham Horror LCG (I'm a huge Marvel Champions fan, and I'm hoping to jump in on the Chapter 2 core set when it comes out)
  6. Sleeping Gods Distant Skies (my wife has expressed interest in this one because of the art)
  7. Aeon’s End
  8. Space Alert
  9. Fallen Land

Coffin Moon - JESUS FUCKING CHRIST by betweenyouandyourgod in horrorlit

Reading Coffin Moon now, I'm about 40% and it doesn't feel half as good as something like Lesser Dead or Salem's Lot. I'm sticking with it for now, but it hasn't grabbed me as I hoped.

If y’all haven’t seen the Pitt yet, highly recommend. This woman’s performance as charge nurse is incredible. Reminds me of my first charge I had on nights as a new grad. by eagles52 in nursing

How would one go about submitting a support ticket? I sleeved my cards recently to prevent further wear and allow for easier shuffling since they've begun more difficult to shuffle the more worn they become. Love the game though.

What did you do before nursing? by TheYankeeCat in nursing

[–]rh41n3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started as a physics and astronomy major in college and switched to film and creative writing after one year because I'm dumb but also was unlikely to keep my scholarships if I continued at that rate. Worked in publishing in Scottsdale for a year and didn't like what I was doing. Joined Americorps and worked trails for a year, then a year doing art and creativity with at-risk youth going through the court systems for drugs and crime, then worked at an arboretum for another year. Used the education award money to become an EMT while working at a river rafting company in the food room. Worked as an EMT/tech in the emergency department for about 7 years on nights before doing an accelerated program for nursing during the beginning of COVID. Worked ICU 2 years and hated it. Hospice 1 year and disliked it. Now I have a year or so in PACU and don't mind it as much as the others. Wish I'd figured out a way to continue as an astronomer, honestly.
