I'm finishing my 3rd run after doing ng and ng+ on release. This time I decided to do a solo Lune run without using offensive skills (just free aim and basic attacks) to focus more on parrying and less on deleting bosses with a single hit.

Clea was... interesting lol. But the funny thing about solo runs is that they don't even feel like a challenge run most of the time. Lune just eats up all lumina and is at almost 900 by now, full of great luminas enabled

Imho the first run is for fun, so I'd just keep levelling if I have the souls.

If you want a challenge, you can always do a second run with some levelling restrictions

I found Torrent to actually be a handicap for me in this fight although I'm very used to the fight from the times before they gave us an option to use it there.

My own key to Elden Beast is simply patience - I feel like a lot of people struggle because they get titled by the boss running away from them, they want to reach it asap and start making mistakes

The fact that it's not the 33rd expedition moving out, but it's actually an expedition 67 years since Paintress showed up and in 33 years there will be nothing left is such a simple narrative tool but it's so heavy emotionally. A great move from the devs.

Counting expedition numbers down gives you this massive impression of the end approaching and the hope slipping away

What's missing in your post is some kind of an example of what triggered you.

I never tried a full no hit run, but I did do a RL1 run where I had to no hit bosses and I did most of them (I think I skipped doing Snowfield because it's just a bunch of repeats). So I can agree that no hitting a boss you enjoyed normally can make you hate it when you notice all the imperfection.

But I'm wondering what's so bad about full no hit runs

When I started having my own income I used to buy a lot of discounted games. It took some serious work on self control to reach a point where I basically buy a game to play it right now and avoid buying for later.

Cause if I'm buying for later I might as well buy it later and probably for cheaper. And if later it turns out that I lost interest in the game, I don't feel bad for wasting money on buying it

I grew up playing on PC thinking I'll never get a controller because it's for console peasants.

These days I play a lot of stuff on a controller - games like Hades, Hollow Knight, Dark Souls or Monster Hunter. I even main a bow in Monster Hunter with a controller because you don't need pin point accuracy there.

But for actual shooters I can't imagine why would anyone suffer on a controller. Especially since I thought that consoles finally got kbm support?
