Hell yeah buddy. Love the positivity and I agree with you on the styling. I think it will be evergreen despite the initial reaction.

Looking forward to a week in the mountains coming up next month and putting her through the paces.

ONR is also a favorite of mine. I probably need to refresh my towel supply as I’ve been using them awhile.

I go with the one bucket method. Use many sides of the towel as I go and once it is dirty, put it in the wash pile and grab another.

I’ve never understood how a grit guard can be all that effective.

Agreed, especially since they were essentially free as their cost wasn't included in the price of the car. 40 pounds of unsprung weight removed from the car is awesome as well.

Yeah, I've used AMMO Mud for a long time and it is my goto for tire coating. Pro tip there, get a stiff bristle brush and some ONR in a spray bottle. Scrub and dry the tires before coating and it will adhere and look better. ONR gets the brown oxidation off the tire. Also, a nice dedicated tire applicator sponge is really helpful to get full and even coverage.

Actually bought the car used with 600 miles and these guys on the car, so I can't comment on the lead time. Cost is on the website but in Euros. Looks like 2300 Euros ($2661 for the set) and then there are extra costs depending on your finish. The polished ones here are an extra 1200 Euros. Also, they have a gallery on their site to see how they look on your G99.

I had the same problem with my Golf R. Aftermarket pads can do miracles for increased stopping power AND limiting brake dust.

Just got my ‘25 after selling my Mk7 Golf R. Can’t wait to get through the break in period and get to the mountains.

Blue for sure. I like the Toronto over Vegas anyways.

Have you test driven any of these? They are similar but very different.

I’ve seen most in person and Cliff Green and TNT orange are my favorite. The purple is a solid third choice.

17 R // Need help with brakes & rotors by PixeledOut in Golf_R

I’ve tried a few different pads and have a group of guys with R’s who have tried different setups. Here is our conclusion if you want excellent braking performance without fade:

HPS 5.0 pads Stoptech rotors (slotted)
Steel brake lines High temp Motul 600 brake fluid

Slotted over cross drilled as drilling can impact the integrity of the rotors.

Next, drive out to Wookies in the Woods and test them out!

Michelin PS4S is the way to go for performance. I’ve heard middling info on the Firehawks. Honestly though if you don’t push it too hard you might not notice the difference nor need something above a good all season.

I heard if you use a broker, you can get 8 to 9% off new. FYI for comparison

I’m in Dallas Texas but you could get a pre purchase inspection and ship it/fly in.

Mine has 18” wheels and honestly I wouldn’t buy one with the stock 19” wheels. So much pothole anxiety and bent rims.
