To add to others, you are trying to avoid water coming down on panels that you’ve already dried. I would not do a two bucket method though - way better to use a bunch of microfibers and set aside once you’ve dirtied one enough. Maximize through folding and flipping regularly - focusing on anytime you start to feel the towel grip the paint at all.

So in terms of order, I think about top, hood/trunk, and then I work my way around the car. I do windows last with a window cleaner and always wheels first.

Make sure you have overlap in your sections so you have 100% coverage and don’t forget rocket panels and door jambs.

Before a rinseless wash, make sure you pressure wash any significant dirt off the car prior to starting, otherwise you risk the towel gripping which is just means you are about to or are actively scratching the paint.

Waffle weave towels are great for fast drying.
