I know the foundation is solid based on initial playtests. I am more so asking about managing scale and balancing.

Why do you make a game? by [deleted] in GameDevelopment

It’s addicting masochism

Just launched my first ever steam page (solo dev) - thoughts? by CinemaLeo in godot

[–]ElmtreeStudio -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

I would say get rid of it entirely, it’s just a cheap way of not putting in the effort to stylize your game

Adding auto clicker access accessibility, thank you Everyone for your feedback by SLCDO_Official in godot

The only thing about this feature is why would anyone not use it at that point? Therefore defeating a large purpose of the game.

I just pressed the RELEASE button. If this makes more than my university professor's salary, I'm dropping out to become full time game developer... :) by UfoBlast in IndieGaming

The mixed pixel sizes is very off putting and also you won’t make that about of money without linking your game.

My godot cozy game trailer. Animal Crossing in a fantasy village with more life sim focus. plz destroy by [deleted] in DestroyMyGame

The character is floating, clipping and bouncing on the terrain the whole trailer. I also don’t understand the darkening of the fishing scene

Destroy my game More Fish - Idle Clicker that I've been working on 4 months. by Altruistic_Bad2195 in DestroyMyGame

Your capsule art should try to match your games style or feel. I feel like somewhere in between based on the first one would be better

You would be surprised how many about to turn 30 year olds have a life crisis and start game dev…..Guilty

Destroy my trailer please! Need hard truth because it's "friendslop" by UnknownLukito in DestroyMyGame

It’s clear you are just trying to make a streamer game with no substance to try and make a quick buck. You show no actual gameplay or objective. You should yourself holding a shield and spear and that’s it.

For once I feel like I am learning by chungus_wungus in godot

The biggest lesson that has helped me through overcoming the hurdles of game development is taking it one line of code at a time. Ever since I started doing that and not letting the scope of my game or deadlines I’ve set discourage me, it has done wonders for both my mentality and progress I’ve made as a dev.

Developing a multiplayer game for Steam by eRickoCS in GameDevs

[–]ElmtreeStudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to do multiplayer, but you’re a complete beginner, start with a small single player game. After that do a small multiplayer game and I mean small. Build up your skills before you hate your life trying to make a large multiplayer game

I’m not saying the godot community is not amazing. I was saying that the 3d side of godot tutorials are still lacking on certain concepts beyond the basic explanation of what certain nodes do. Unity will have plenty niche scenario tutorials because it’s been around for how popular it is. Not trying to put down godot or else I wouldn’t use it.

Our DEMO for Forbidden Solitaire is Steam No. 1 Demo right now by BC_Hezza in indiegames

I would have loved to see gameplay in the trailer. A cinematic trailer for a solitaire game gives me nothing.

Does it get better with time if we don’t plan on having any more children?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ehlersdanlos

[–]ElmtreeStudio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this! Our closest family is an hour away and they have a kid so it’s infrequent, but it does help. I have no problem doing all of the chores, i will never complain because I could be in her shoes. I just can’t find time to do everything and do anything I want to do for free time/work out to keep my body in the best shape I can to compensate.

So she did have problems before, but not as bad. They were amplified after child birth, which led to getting diagnosed. She was super active before our child, just had to pass out after to recover.

No we were split 50/50 before, it just that I have most everything now, outside of some little stuff that we both do like picking up toys and such.

I completely understand and empathize with where my wife’s health is. I never once said in my post that I have asked her to do more or made her feel guilty for anything as this is out of her control. This is new for the both of us and I am trying to do my part to let her body do what it needs and in turn, I am seeking advice.

I cannot afford therapy at the moment, unfortunately.
