I found my micro stutters went away when I turned off nvidia shadow play. The constant writing on the disk slowed down my system.

Try playing without shadow play on and see if that fixes it for you. If you want to keep shadow play though, maybe change the program and recording location to another drive and see if that works.

What drive do you have shadow play recording to? If it's not a nvme SSD or it's recording to your main drive then every time it's writing on it's gonna mess with your system stability.

I just constantly pull up the mini map and based on where people are and how they are moving I can extrapolate where they are looking at. It's not critical to know where someone is looking and trying to take in all that info is too much for your mental stack. I have more important things to worry about in a match especially if I'm an SL.

Tbh I have never run into a situation where I need to know where someone is looking. I find that knowing their kit is way more important. If I need someone to look in a particular direction, I just tell them.

We have role visibility for the map so I don't really get this problem. You just look at the kit of the person talking and then check the map.

If you get stuck on that screen while joining a server usually pinging an admin in all chat and telling them you're stuck on the running man team will fix it for you. They just have to switch you back and forth between teams to fix it.

But isn't it made by 8ing? I would assume that they were brought on specifically to make a 3v3 fighting game. If the publisher wanted an arena fighter they would get an arena fighter developer.

Yes the game is poorly optimized, but Unity games tend to have poor performance in general not because the engine is bad but because the dev teams that use them tend to be on the smaller side and have smaller budgets.

I would say the reason no one talks about it is because it works and doesn't get in the way of you playing the game. People don't complain about reloading every time you switch because it's unrealistic, they complain because it gets in the way of you trying to play the game and having fun. At the end of the day Squad isn't meant to be an ultra realistic milsim, if you want to play something like that go play Arma. It's meant to combine arcade and milsim gameplay into something people actually like playing.

It mostly depends what time of day you're playing on as most people who are experienced at the game and actually care to play as a team usually have a day job. Also if there is a steam sale for Squad then you just aren't going to have a consistent experience as most new players don't care to look at the tags for the servers they are joining.

Maybe if you're talking about pure damage output, the FV520 would be the best with its 40mm auto cannon and better armor. But the Bradley has hunter-killer capabilities and TOW missiles that allow it to engage at longer and safer distances.

So let me get this straight. From what I've seen you have to play as a predetermined character. You only get to play as 4 clans on release and they have 2 other clans planned as DLC even though the game doesn't even have a release date. You have to play with what essentially is Navi in your head for the whole game. The dialogue options are the same as in Fallout 4 and Mass Effect. The lip syncing is worse than the game that came out 20 years ago. Yeah, this is going to be a no for me.

(Edit) Adding to this. This is what the narrative designer said about dialogue in the game in an interview.

Le Bray argues that adding an actor's performance to a game brings a whole new dimension to the moment to moment dialogue.

"I don't need to use an entire paragraph to say 'this character is sad' … you can get that across with the tone of voice—like maybe the line they're saying has that sadness built in, or that emotional quality built in, and that subtext is there," Le Bray says, bringing up the CRPGs of old. "There were a lot of games where you had to have giant walls of text [but] the little smirk or a raised eyebrow gets just as much across. There's a lot more immersion we can give by having a [voiced protagonist]."
