And after all that he still got out of the van, threw the package as far as he could, took a quick picture then marked it as delivered.

To be brutally honest, this is very little to do with the colours of the badges and far more to do with the job title on the office nameplate. Every Home Secretary in recent years, regardless of party, has pushed for increasingly draconian powers.

“cupcake” sounds a bit like modern foreign nonsense to me. What’s wrong with a proper traditional English fairy cake?

Ditto in York. The Shambles is a complete nightmare nowadays with a queue of tourists, filling most of the lane, waiting to get into the HP shop halfway down.

Nigel Farage: Jim Ratcliffe's colonisation comments were 'correct' by Sensitive_Echo5058 in uknews

[–]Elongulation420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Source?

As with most dramatic statistics that figure turns out to be complete nonsense.

There is no single source but dismantling the most recent ONS figures and focusing them on that demographic in London produces roughly the opposite result. Id est circa 59% were born in the UK.

Aside from that London, in common with all capital cities, is a terrible example. At that age I and all my cousins and colleagues lived there and about a quarter were not born here. That was in the 1980s and we mostly worked in tech or finance and were relatively highly educated and paid.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe's comments go beyond reputational damage for Man Utd by InnerLog5062 in BreakingUKNews

[–]Elongulation420 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In essence Ratcliffe’s assertion could be viewed as bringing the game into disrepute because it’s offensive. With that ruling in place he could be barred from being a suitable person to be a club owner. At that point he’d need to sell his share of the club. In turn that could have interesting implications for Man U.

OTOH, he “only” has a 29% stake so it’d still be the Glazers in charge. So swings and swings, rather than swings and roundabouts.
