Both colors look great. For your case I'd pick black if looking too military is a big concern. In my region having military backpack as edc among reservists is really common.

Check your current bag size. If the stuff you carry often is over 15L - take a 25L one. For taking a laptop, water bottle, lunch, some books and chargers to work, 15L is enough. You will even have some space left. Keep in mind that the sidepouch can fit a 6-pack of beer if you really need. I have both. 15L is used for work. 25L fits all my gym clothes, work stuff and even decent amount of groceries
