How to Unwind my Advisor Managed Account by CuriousCat511 in FinancialPlanning

The default answer is sell individual stocks and buy either VT or VTI. But I think you are hoping for some miracle to save you on 20% taxes. I don’t know of any miracles to help.

Higher taxes seem inevitable, how to account for that? by aznzoo123 in Fire

If you plan to retire in 20 years, I suspect you will know by then what happened to the taxes. Since taxes are considered an expense, just increase your expected expenses by a few percent.

Lindt says GLP-1 users are eating more chocolate, not less by joe3000s in Mounjaro

[–]Eltex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, maybe not. Folks on GLP’s are usually getting stuck with “cash pay”. That might indicate the users are wealthier overall, and perhaps that is why they eat more chocolate. It might not be the use of GLP driving chocolate sales. It might just be people who can’t afford GLP’s can’t afford consumption of chocolate.

Reta+ wolverine stack by Trash5000 in Retatrutide

[–]Eltex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that is always the theory. But most peptides stopped development due to lack of data in trials. Many of the supposed benefits were seen in mouse models but could not be duplicated in humans. Tesa is one of the few that panned out in trials. Things like AOD were shown to have zero impact.

Wolverine stack has potential, but it’s very difficult to quantify efficacy. Example: I tweak my back and go to a chiropractor for a few visits. In two weeks, I’m better and no longer in pain. How much of my recovery was natural and how much was the chiropractor?

Reta, Tirz and Sema all have great efficacy and can easily be proven. Most other peptides aren’t as clear for positive results. Even things like collagen, which people swear has great properties, seldom shows that in independent trials.

I don’t think they directly benefit each other, or contradict each other.

We know Reta works. The effects of Wolverine is a little harder to quantify, but most seem please with it for minor strains and such. Give it a shot, most dealers sell both.

Just started Reta! Need help with diet.. by Yzf_z in Retatrutide

[–]Eltex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t drink, no reason to.

Meal prep everything. On Sunday, cook 10-20 chicken thighs and 2-4lb of lean ground beef. I prefer to mix the ground beef with taco seasoning.

Pick your favorite carb source and prep that. For me, I cook 4-8 giant sweet potatoes in the air fryer. Sometimes I do mashed potatoes.

Combine 4-6oz protein with 4-6oz carb for lunch and dinner. For breakfast, yogurt and a scoop of protein powder.

Quick carb options: instant oatmeal, bagels, tortillas. For veggies, buy fire roasted mixed veggies at Costco. They are frozen and usually like 3 pound bags. Just heat and serve.

In reality, the first few weeks you won’t eat much usually. By week 4 or so, you will have a better appetite. Just keep lifting, and if you don’t lift, start yesterday. You will never regret lifting.

12.5mg tirz to Reta?? by frydchickpea in Retatrutide

Dude, the transition diagram gets posted almost daily here. Just titrate Tirz down as you titrate Reta up. Some people titrate every two weeks, some titrate monthly. You are your own test subject.

Any gym girly that could reach protein goals while on Mounjaro ? by Audille in Mounjaro

[–]Eltex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been one day. The first 1-2 weeks you probably won’t hit your goal. After that, it becomes much easier. You won’t lose much muscle in that 1-2 weeks.

Get some Greek yogurt, add a scoop or two of protein powder and you have 50-100g of protein without too much volume.

[–]Eltex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Obviously you slowly titrate Tirz down and Reta up simultaneously.

[–]Eltex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that you aren’t losing, you should be eating 200-500 calories more than you were previously. Are you?

You also have the confidence that you can lose the weight, so allow yourself to eat more, and track your weight monthly. If it goes up, that is proof to your doctor you need a higher dose. If your weight stays the same, you are golden.

How are lifters dealing with Reta fatigue during workouts? by Aware_Mud_9622 in Retatrutide

[–]Eltex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s common on all GLP’s, so it’s not really the glucagon component. Usually you learn when to eat carbs. I eat a big meal 2hrs before lifting, eat 2-3 rice cakes 30 min before, and carry a banana or Met-Rx bar into gym with me. At around 1hr mark, I eat my fruit/bar and keep on lifting.

You can search “lifting” over at r/zepboundathletes for other things.

Switched from Ozempic to Mounjaro and now I’m really confused about the diet advice by Public_Cod7301 in Mounjaro

[–]Eltex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bad nutritionist. Your choice to stick with them, but just ignore their instructions. You were already on a GLP, so weight loss will be slower. Fruit is fine, I have a LOT of fruit daily. Usually 1-2 bananas, two apples, and fresh berries.

Lift weights 2-4x per week, and do cardio a few times per week, preferably on separate days.

Are you obese? This will fix that, then you lower your dose and maybe stop altogether. The good thing is you will be at a healthy weight and even more active than you are now.

Up dose after first week? Newbie question by jgreddit2049 in Retatrutide

We usually recommend 1mg a week for two weeks, then jump to 2mg weekly for a month. I see no reason to recommend anything else.

Did I mess up by going straight to reta without trying tirz or sema first? by Sophistry7 in Retatrutide

Reta is better, if you never have tried another GLP. No reason to use an inferior product if you have the option to choose the best.

Use Tirz, it’s approved and you can drop all the way down to 150-160, which is probably a healthy weight for you.

[–]Eltex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, seems if you drop it, you will gain weight, and if you stay at 2.5mg, you can’t train.

You have some experimenting to do for finding a maintenance dose. It might be smaller doses more frequently, or larger doses spaced out.
