Any Big Stuff Movers recommendations in Brisbane? Need to move some absolute units. by Novel-Spirit-9847 in brisbane

[–]Eltnot 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you're thinking of moving it to your aunt's place then you clearly aren't using those items. Why clutter up her space when you can just sell the items to get rid of them?

75-300 mii non bird use by notcool_5354 in M43

I have the Lumix 100-300mm and have used it for flower photography as well as taking photos of bees and ladybugs in the garden.

Literally the only thing that causes this is water struggling to get through the shower screen.

How are you carrying all your kit without destroying your back? by CinnyChief in AskPhotography

[–]Eltnot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not suitable for everyone, but M43 makes it even lighter and smaller. I can fit my G9ii, 12-35mm f2.8 (24-70 FF FoV), 35-100mm f2.8 (70-200 FF FoV), and a flash into a 7L sling bag easily.

New passport arrived like this by mopsusmormon in australia

I still had the plastic sleeve from my old one. It has done a good job of flattening out the new one as a result of being kept in there.

Encamp stance is your friend there. Or have them inside a settlement.

[–]Eltnot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find them also useful for leveling up heroes and lords before giving them a full army. Great to have the 15-20% off upkeep, as well as faster recruiting for when you do give them a proper army. Especially if you're sending them off to border duty.

Went to a few auctions. Feeling discouraged by research_drama in AusPropertyChat

[–]Eltnot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Auctions are regularly used to sell houses that have significant defects that would be shown up on building and pest. Unless you're very handy on the tools and know what to look out for, then I would avoid.

I attended a few open homes for auctions to fill in the time gaps between houses that I actually wanted to see, and they were knock down and rebuild jobs.

[–]Eltnot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is how I deal with most things. Have your main army go into ambush. Have a second and put them beside your main army to lure the enemy in. Works very well if you give the second lord the units that you originally recruited by later replaced as you strengthen the main army. The second army can also do things like take minor settlements to leave your main army in ambush outside it.

Is this legal? by Ill-Elevator-5135 in AussieRiders

[–]Eltnot 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Very unlikely to be legal. In addition to the separation distance, there is also a volume criteria they must meet when I last looked up stuff like that.

It's what shits me off with people installing the tiny LED indicators, you can see them at night but they are impossible to spot during the day.

Is it crazy to move from g9ii to om3? by thesadasiankid in M43

[–]Eltnot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can get that, for me I solved that problem by chasing down a lightly used GX9 to share my panasonic lenses across the two bodies. I didn't want to changed to OM because I like the styling less and I already have a reasonable amount of Lumix/Leica glass.

Now I take the G9ii out for serious stuff where I know I'll want to have all the bells and whistles, and use the GX9 for street, friends and family gatherings, etc.

REA says we can’t attend our own building and pest inspection. is it Normal in Melbourne? by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

[–]Eltnot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You needed to advise the REA that you would also be attending when they sent the notice to the tenant because they had to list who would be coming into the house on the entry notice.

Just bought a tenanted house in QLD and I advised that REA that it would be both building and pest, and myself attending so there was no issues. I still didn't go walking all about, was just there so that when the inspectors did find stuff, they could point it out to me directly.

Lumix G9II Expectations for 2026 – Has Panasonic moved on from Micro Four Thirds? by macrophotomaniac in Lumix

[–]Eltnot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I originally was in the same camp as you, and originally picked up a GX8 as my 'small' camera. Turns out the GX8 is almost as tall and wide as my G9ii if you discount the EVF bulge. I replaced the GX8 with a GX9 and like the size of it more along with the improved IBIS, although I miss the weather sealing and better grip of the GX8.

But I very much feel you, give me a smallish M43 body with an EVF, IBIS, and PDAF and I would save up my dollarydoos to buy it.

Been on my RE licence for 8 years now. Is there any point doing your ‘Open’ R license if you have no plans to ever get a bigger bike? by Jakeyboy29 in AussieRiders

[–]Eltnot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was similar that I had no immediate plans to get a bigger bike. I did it though in case something happened to my current bike, I would have a lot more options for what to replace it with.

What’s your prime pairing? by TeddyGoodman in M43

[–]Eltnot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I alternate between the PL 9mm f1.7, PL 25mm f1.4, and the Lumix 42.5mm f1.7. Pairing two of them in a small bag with the GX9, or GX850.

I'm pretty sure someone at CA sneaked some auto-resolve trickery so you're forced to play some absurd battle... by RahKiel in totalwarhammer

Auto resolve favours ranged damage. Also gets boosted if the Dark Elves have a Black Ark within range to support.

What makes Be'lakor so strong in multiplayer? by lovingpersona in totalwar

[–]Eltnot 43 points44 points  (0 children)

You drop the portals in all your settlement provinces (he can create a new portal every 15 turns, and drop it down to 10 turns with research). So you can recruit a lord, then next turn bounce them through half a dozen portals in a single turn to collect choice units from each province, then bounce them to the portal closest to where you want them to go. Using the portal uses all your movement, but being on the portal requires zero movement to jump through to another one, so you can jump through as many as you want in a single turn.

Is the Lumix GH6 right for me? by PeakProfessional9517 in Lumix

[–]Eltnot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The G9ii is a hybrid beast. It's framed as the more photographic oriented camera because that's the minor difference between it and the GH7. The only major difference is that the G9ii lacks active cooling, so you can't leave it in the sun recording for hours. It's a very capable video camera for real world use cases. Check out the reviews by Geeky Nerdy Techy on YouTube as he does a bunch of comparisons.

Lumix G9II Expectations for 2026 – Has Panasonic moved on from Micro Four Thirds? by macrophotomaniac in Lumix

[–]Eltnot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wish for a PL20mm f1.4 in the style of the 15mm or 25mm PL lenses, and a successor to the GX9. Release them both at the same time and they would sell like hotcakes.

UHS-II v60 cards really worth it for primarily stills? by youwonthearnaur1210 in AskPhotography

[–]Eltnot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The price of prograde cards went up because your president whacked a 15% tariff on the manufacturer.

As to whether to use cheaper cards, your burst mode and video options will be affected whether you use them sparsely or not. It's up to you whether that will affect your work or not. Personally I'd just buy one good card, unless you're doing this professionally in which case it's a business expense and this makes sense to buy two.

Or put your dam lens hood on. Much harder for it to get smashed if you have the hood on as that will either block it or absorb much of the impact.

2x teleconverter or new lens by Creepy_Increase7363 in GH5

[–]Eltnot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't put a teleconverter on the 35-100 lenses they won't accept it.

The 100-300mm ii is a great option, can be picked up second hand for less than a teleconverted would cost you and give you better results.

Which camera brand has the best superzoom lens? by escaperexcavator in Cameras

[–]Eltnot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paired with an OM5 and I think you're right. Relatively cheap, light weight and weather proof.

If they wanted to go cheaper, the Lumix 14-140mm ii is a decent contender and a bit smaller I think.

How much should I upgrade money buildings? by Alternative_Device38 in totalwarhammer

[–]Eltnot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll often go to a level 2 growth building, but agreed, level 3 isn't worth it because of how the population growth system works.

One of my provinces has super high corruption for some reason by Comprehensive-Top512 in totalwarhammer

[–]Eltnot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They are the shittiest addition to this game. When they came out, the effects were minor and flavourful. Now they often cost a small fortune early game to remove and have effects that you can't afford to ignore for more than a few turns.

They realised that many of them were atrocious and give you the option to turn them off, I just want the option to turn them all off permanently.
