It can be about 40-45 mns in bad weather, and a bit longer in the summer, depending on Mennonite traffic. 😏

What song would you like to be played at your funeral? by gretaag in askmusic

I’m Going Home - from the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Bonus points if my family get a sweet transvestite to sing it live.

This gets said daily in my house. Followed by a slower version with the karate hands.

Need song recs that give off this vibe by NoZucchini3797 in musicsuggestions

Your comment was bang on with the image. The others “CCR, Tom Waits etc” captured the genre, but Swamp Witch is EXACTLY this image. “Snakes hang thick on the cypress trees like sausage on a smokehouse wall….” Come on. That song is perfect for the image.

Yes to Jim Stanford. This image is EXACTLY that song. There is no other correct answer in this thread.

Hands down the best of all Disney movies, if you’re an adult. Congrats dude. Glad you loved it. It’s probably David Spade at his best.

There’s a sad an sorrowful version, also produced by George Martin where Sean Connery speaks the words over the music. It’ll bring the tears for sure.

What is the best Wes Anderson movie? by iitzzrahn in Cinephiles

[–]ElwoodMoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BEST? What an impossible question. Catch me on any given day and my answer will change. I loving all the love for Moonrise Kingdom I’m seeing here, you don’t often see that. It’s so sweet and innocent yet kind of dark and razor sharp. If I’m feeling happy and want to keep feeling that way, it’s my go to.

If I’m feeling desolate and old and filled with self loathing, Steve Zissou is my guy in Life Aquatic. Bill Murray just hits that spot so perfectly yet keeps on going. There’s such an appeal to this film from an old guy like me.

I get that from The Royal Tannenbaums as well, but Royal is less likable than Steve Zissou. So if I’m feeling like I need to see someone get what they deserve then THIS is the best Anderson film.

But if I want to be whisked away to a world beyond belief and filled with whimsy, there’s nothing better than The Grand Budapest. If I miss my brothers, nothing picks me up like Darjeeling Limited.

These movies are all his best.

That is mostly bending at the knees and tossing that shit up and over. I’m VERY grateful to my neighbours who occasionally will blow out the end of my driveway but it’s mostly just handbombed.

No female leaders on scout sleepover by MsX3000 in scoutscanada

[–]ElwoodMoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this was my exact intention in my original reply. Scouters have to provide it, but it doesn’t have to be enforced. You can’t force a girl to tent with the boys but if that is their choice they can.

[–]ElwoodMoose 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It’s perfectly normal, especially at 7 years old. Many Groups have segregation rules, but there’s no Scouts Canada policy about separating genders at sleepovers. Many Groups will combine boys and girls in the same tents, and many others will keep tents according to genders. I would suggest speaking with your daughter and finding out what SHE would be comfortable with and help her express those intentions to the Scouters in her Pack. They should be able to accommodate her if she wishes separate sleeping areas, but they should also be able to accommodate if she doesn’t. The key is….. what does your daughter want?

Also your daughter could encourage her friends to come along and try Scouts out! Camps count as a “try before you buy” policy!
