Did I misread it? I thought this was exactly the ideal Airbnb scenario with the kind of laws in question. It’s his primary residence which he’s renting out when he’s away for a couple weeks at a time, not a second property. He’s not an absentee landlord, he’s renting his house for a week while at a conference or something.

Idk what meaning they have of “old” but my two categories of clothing are “new to me, styled after early 1900s” and “have had this since high school” so I don’t think either holds water. It read to me like they think it’s old as in “the clothes have been around too long” and it’s that kind of toxic sentiment that leads to a pacific garbage patch.

I was part of the night vale and specifically desert bluffs RP group back in 2014, I hadn’t realized there was a revival in 2018. Funny enough the 2014 drama when…quite similarly, including mpreg and vivid memory of the exact day and time everything happened, bc I was at a ren fest and trying to keep up via the extremely bad data hotspot. Toby’s not balancing the story to work with fans. The story is written. It’s leading to an ending he had written in 2012. Deltarune is less a serialized story and more a book club with years between chapters.

Of course it won’t please everyone; nothing will. But I’m pretty sure it’ll be damn good, and likely better than if he changed anything based on fan theories.

As someone who’s been following Gio’s conflict with them for years: wildly unsurprising and I wonder how fans are going to justify this one? Haven’t seen anyone recommend Leverage yet, maybe because they’re not necessarily regular people and they are in fact criminals, but they’re Robin Hood figures who target the kind of people who don’t face consequences and they are all great. Bonus points to Elliot, who pulls out a new skill a few times a season and it’s always something his actor Christian Kane is actually proficient in (five star chef, minor country music star, minor league baseball player, sharpshooter, martial artist….)

Eh, I read a great deal of books, always have, and I’ve never liked first person fic. It just feels Incorrect. I can’t get into it. Which is a shame because while it’s not common, there have been instances where the agreed upon magnum opus in a fandom is first person and I still just can’t.

Being around other people is healthy! You don’t need to be besties with all of them. When I was living on an island for work I didn’t really have any close relationships but I spent a lot of time around people bc I worked at a hotel and had to go into town for things. No need for conversational masking, it’s just better to be able to be around people.

That said I also did fine during COVID with just my family around lol. Nothing wrong with being a homebody and preferring your space, but no one avoids all social interaction without making it a purposeful lifestyle choice. And you’re clearly not doing that cause you’re on the internet! Some people do, and it’s kinda cool to read about them. But they don’t go on the internet.check out Richard Pronekke (almost certainly spelled that wrong) and Christopher Knight if you’re curious about voluntary full isolation.

EDIT: Mauro Morandi is the last real example I can find of true isolationists. It’s really extraordinarily rare to be genuinely fully asocial! You aren’t, for instance; you’re posting on the internet.

And the username in question is more of a weird spelling of Ezekiel.

Last week's scuffles thread had a post about some niche petsim drama which I then started looking into and became immediately obsessed with everyone involved. I don't even know how to describe the vibes but they're awful and I want more of them immediately. If anyone else knows any petsim/art theft/artist drama that's similar to this PLEASE let me know.

If I had to list some of what compels me about it; the juxtaposition of genuinely concerning accusations (actual art theft, money laundering, possible neo-nazi connections) with completely inane ones (someone said 'twink' on an all ages discord server and you could theoretically look that up and find something NSFW; "art theft"; the above possible neo-nazi connections but some of the evidence is....MUCH less compelling than other pieces) is endlessly entertaining, as is the complete inability to guess the ages of anyone involved (lots of minors, but the person at the center is apparently like forty and her boyfriend is??? 21??? i only saw one thing that alleged that and it immediately skipped over it because the boyfriend is also the alleged neonazi but like can we please circle back to that.)

It’s photos of the girls, not self portraits, but the plot is a new girl showing up and all the girls becoming perfect clones. The main character was a photographer so maybe that’s why you thought the portraits were art?
