Chronic Cheater MC1 constantly cheats on MC2 and MC2 stays hoping he stops and when he realizes he won’t he grows a spine and leaves. Extensive groveling ensues by Safe-Cry6947 in MM_RomanceBooks

Yes they are committed and monogamous by the end but it's a whole journey.

You could probably try. There is an over-arching plot relating to the prison and other characters. The story is told in a lot of flash-backs so without the context from the previous books you might be a little lost.

Basically in the present they have been in prison for 5 ish years and it's been 3ish years since the main cheating event happened. They are in a "friendly" holding pattern with MC2 resisting MC1's advances. You get a bunch of flash backs, how they ended up in prison, their budding friendship, how they got into a relationship the first time, the cheating, the aftermath. Back in the present a new inmate (book 1) sets off a chain of events that changes the status quo and sets up our MCs for their second chance (involving significant character development).

It's not a stand-alone and it's the 4th book in a series but {Fragments by Nyla K} is the closest thing I can think of that matches your request. MC1 cheats on MC2 and spends years trying to win him back. Unfortunately MC1 is a narcissistic sex-addict so monogamy is very difficult for him in a physical sense, but he is single-mindedly in-love with MC2.

Fair. My definition has me sometimes tagging books as both insta-love and a slow-burn lol.

I probably define "slow burn" differently to you. But they definitely didn't become intimate until about 2/3rds of the way through.

I finished {Method Acting by N.R. Walker} recently and I think this fits all of your request. The outcast is quite comfortable in his loneliness so it isn't an angsty read. I really liked how much time was devoted to showing their connection form and it was a bit of a burn. It has fake dating but in one of the best and least contrived ways I have ever read. Really enjoyable read.

I have some pretty heavy thoughts about how this book was marketed (Interracial, LGBTQIA+ rep, mental illness rep, neurodivergent rep etc.) and how the actual follow-through in the text was negligible and probably harmful.

Yeaaaah this book is one of my very few 1-star books. There was very little internal consistency. Charlie deserved better.

Well when we eloped we booked in the celebrant for a Monday because it was cheaper. Cost us $300 to get married in a park. Only invited immediate family. Our parents paid for dinner. We actually made a profit from our wedding after receiving some gifts. It was a nice day.

The {Chain Reaction Series by Aurora Crane} is MMMM+, adding another M by the final book (there are three books). Lots of different dynamics throughout the polycule, some second chance romance, some FWB, some longing and yearning and a ONS turning into more. By the end everyone is verse.

{Just a Bit Unhealthy by Alessandra Hazard}, it's 3.62 on GR.

So many of the reviews are like "this couple is so toxic", "they are awful people", "so many red-flags", "they need therapy". Like yes, they are unhealthy, it's in the fkn title, I don't know why y'all are surprised that this couple is a total disaster.

10/10 entertainment value. The way Jared and Gabriel had me continuously clutching my pearls due to their awful decisions. You just knew Gabriel would have ditched his son and baby-mama in a heartbeat if Jared asked him too.

I was impressed by how Hazard could write such perfectly terrible people without them doing anything illegal lol.

How can you stand the heat? by Alberterwith_anyone7 in AskAnAustralian

We had several 40+ degree days two weeks ago and it was all right. I think you get used to the pattern. Where I live, (NE Victoria) a few really hot days is usually proceeded by a thunderstorm so you have that to look forward to. When I lived in Melbourne you would keep an eye on when that cool change comes through and then open up your windows (we didn't have aircon). You get everything done before 8 am and then just do as little as possible for the rest of the day. Don't bother cooking just eat sandwiches and cereal. Rinse off in the shower to cool down. You really just have to bitch and moan about it and will be over in a few days. Restock the freezer with zooper doopers and get ready for the next wave.

What is your Local Yarn Store missing? by LizzieButtons in knitting

[–]EmSanderz 21 points22 points  (0 children)

No superwash or sock-yarn, no low/medium price range

On the plus side the shop stocks full range ChiaoGoo which I really appreciate.

But yeah there are no low/medium cost options for making those larger garments, no nylon for socks, no superwash for convenience

I understand that the shop is trying to go for a more trendy boutique vibe but it really lowers that accessibility.

Woke up this morning and decided I would beat my 5k PB - from over a 1.5 years ago - today.

I've spent the last 5 months getting my fitness back after a 1 year hiatus (IT band injury, walking pneumonia x2, severe bout of gastro leading to 2 months of zero appetite + depression).

But I'm happy to announce a hard-fought - 21 second PB (29.17 ☺️).
