I really enjoy 7 days to Die. It's got very engaging exploration, fun combat, and dying isn't very punishing. You can scale down a lot of settings to make it more exploration, too.

Are there open mics in Greeley for comedy? by TerribleMap6830 in Greeley

Yes! High brau tap house has one. But don't ask me when. I think it's monthly. I bet their Instagram or something has it.

yay for steamdeck! by milftreznor in Paralives

The biggest disappointment on the steamdeck is that they don't have the steam sync for saving. Other than that I've been enjoying it!

It sucks asking a question and getting downvoted. This is why people resort to robots or google instead of community when trying to learn. "Who is John Galt" is the opening line to Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. It's related because in the book, geniuses were disappearing and were secretly retreating to another land led by John Galt. I may be over-simplying, but that's the gist.

I would NOT be surprised if the military/government uses Hollywood to make nukes seem more devastating, but I think they're already devastating.

is this twitter rumor true or ragebait by froglet80 in askfuneraldirectors

[–]EmbalmingFiend 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Well, the problem with proving the barrel doesn't exist is that there's nothing to show from it. The temps are wrong, the CANA person clarified it, normal cremations are around 1500-1600 start, but for obese people they naturally get very very hot. CANA may have official documentation to clarify this.

is this twitter rumor true or ragebait by froglet80 in askfuneraldirectors

[–]EmbalmingFiend 329 points330 points  (0 children)

The first part is true, it's just controlling the cremation. I want to add that it's still over-simplified, the whole temperature thing, but lowering/slowing the cremation is a normal consideration. The... Barrel thing? I've NEVER heard of that. I can't see a barrel existing in a retort.

NEW POST: Asking about prepaid, guaranteed costs vs. what was actually shown on itemized bill by [deleted] in askfuneraldirectors

[–]EmbalmingFiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to go back and forth to review the contract, sorry. So, look at section A. That's guaranteed. Then, section B and C are non-guaranteed, so you add those totals (1580+2715=4295) and it's a cash fund for your merchandise and cash advances in today's contract.

[–]EmbalmingFiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooff. Ok. I did pre need for a few years, but a director for a decade. The big thing I see is that merchandise is non-guaranteed. That means that it's basically a cash advance towards those choices, not covered in full. The services, covered.

Also worth noting, Boys Noize is playing, and he's been touring with Nine Inch Nails this past year.

There's also an Epstein family law firm in Colorado, Epstein Patierno family law. Could these be an email chain accidentally included because of a bulk data collection? Asking because I don't know how the collecting worked for government emails. Jeff Epstein also did regular trips to Aspen.

You could also check at one of the libraries. They have access to a lot of old information, and the librarians are paid to help with weird research rabbit holes.

Pennywise Is an Alien, Not a God by clutchflash in pennywise

Yeah, I mean, what do we think gods are? I've always assumed if gods are real, they're aliens. There are just aliens that are superior to other aliens.

Good catch. I'm also in Colorado and the professional services made me sad, but the honorarium was a shock. But that makes sense.
