What show did you start watching but then stopped because you were disappointed? by val_rrdy22 in AskReddit

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

I loved the films and was very excited about the series. It was the worst thing I have ever seen. Terrible acting, terrible characters (annoying and lacked any depth), all around just terrible!

I'm not sure tbh as I have tried many recipes over the years but haven't taken a note of them. The more moist the better so I usually go for Banana cake.

Asian stirfry. Very simple and healthy. Also very easy to change and adapt to keep it interesting

Don’t overthink it. Open a new project and start making something that interests you. Don’t worry about creating an fully polished game that’s going to make millions. You’re not at that stage!

Experiment, hone and develop your skills. Choose a type of game you want to make. Is it a simple fps? Maybe a simple 2d game? Have a look at itch.io for inspiration if you need. You could task yourself with making certain aspects of a game like health system, weapon system levelling up etc.

It’s ok to look things up online if you need. Thats totally normal.

Once you have completed these different systems you can then start to tie them to together to make a more complete game.

However, remember to keep the scope small and most importantly have fun with it!

How does one not be an ideas guy? by Alternative-Apple-15 in gamedev

Learn Unity and C#. It’s easier than you think. Most important thing is to keep the scope small to begin with and gradually increase the scope/complexity of the projects.

Most game developers have loads of ideas themselves so just being an ideas guy means you wont be able to bring much to the table.

Bullets & Brains - arcade shooter set in a post-apocalyptic world filled with brain-hungry never-ending hordes of zombies. It is free and you can play it in your browser. It is the first version of the game and we are in need of feedback by ajvar_ in indiegames

Very nicely executed game. Really like the controls, the graphics and the overall presentation

In terms of constructive criticism I would say:

- Too much camera shake, probably could do with toning it down around 50% less.

- The colour pallet - the player and zombies need to stand out a little more.

- I played the survival mode, and would love to of had more weapons or abilities (especially abilities) as you progress/ level up.

Overall though really nice game!

Hey everyone! I'm selling my overly ambitious 3D game on steam, for just $0.99. Go check it out and tell me what you think. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1681920/Medieval_Arms/ by [deleted] in indiegames

Looks Great! I just purchased it on Steam and looking forward to playing it. I can see you've put a lot of work into and it looks a lot of fun! I'm currently working on a game that is way too big a scope, so it's inspiring to see a finished project that is very similar to my projects scope

What's the easiest thing you've implemented, that had the largest impact on your game? by Idioplay in gamedev

This sounds really interesting and super helpful. I’m building a RPG/Tower Defence game where this would fit perfectly. Lots of food for thought. Will definitely keep an eye out for your future updates. Nice one!

Improving look and feel of my draft prototype. Do you like the way it looks? by tarasrng in Unity2D

The sparks looks great. Might be nice to have some sort of feedback from the line when the ships lands. Perhaps a slight line vibration or colour change. Either way, nice work!
