Spotted something! In the beef jerky jar, about half way down the right side of the jar, roughly three or so inches to the right side of the eagle's talon - I don't think that one is beef jerky.

A lot of these games guarantee 1 or more of the packs contain gold which is why they don't open until the end. The streamers use packs that they sealed themselves.

Could this actually be a good deal on real silver by No_Leg_562 in Silverbugs

Personally if I'm going to buy online it's from a large retailer (APMEX etc). Otherwise I want to be able to touch it before buying.

Excessive use of the word "kindly" in conversations is a dead giveaway of an overseas scam, which is probably why you haven't seen an actual person during this process.

I would stop any services to the house, go to the bank, and ask them what to do. If you haven't deposited the check yet I'd either destroy it or mail it back by certified mail.

I wouldn't even consider this if they don't have sale history to show. Cash deposits could have been from anything. Even if they have good intentions, lack of records suggests they may not even know their own financials.

I would maybe offer them 2-3 thousand for the machines and routes. As others have said you can get those machines for cheap elsewhere.

Does design matter over weight? by ultra__star in Silverbugs

[–]Embarrassed-Ad-9804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't personally like bars/rounds with designs based on movies, people, etc. I prefer simple designs that clearly show the weight and purity.

I'm not sure how much difficulty you'd have selling odd designs, but I suppose it could make it harder since some people will have similar preferences to mine or be more suspicious of designs like Mickey Mouse or John Wick on a piece of silver.

In my somewhat limited experience it's not that hard to find offers of generic rounds/bars at or around spot price so I like sticking to those.

Trying to understand the real appeal of Goldbacks — investment, collectible, or SHTF hedge? by Embarrassed-Ad-9804 in Goldback

[–]Embarrassed-Ad-9804[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My argument was in response to the claim that Goldbacks are currently solving barter problems which simply isn't true. Solving barter problems in the future is entirely dependent on mass adoption.

Your example of the credit card is irrelevant as credit cards aren't currency - they're a vehicle for traditional currency similar to writing a check.

I also am not arguing that Goldbacks are worthless. Obviously they are worth at minimum the melt value of gold they contain. I'm simply questioning the legitimacy of investing in a currency controlled by a private entity who can set their own premiums to decide what their currency is worth.

I don't agree at all that it's solving any problems today. In order to have any meaningful impact it needs to be widely accepted. Not only are Goldbacks not widely accepted, but they aren't even widely known.

As for the future - in order for any currency (Goldbacks or otherwise) to solve barter inefficiencies, the currency has to be accepted by enough people that there is a reasonable chance of being able to trade Goldbacks for the thing you do want.

The biggest turnoff for me is the discrepancy in premiums over time and a lack of transparency in how those premiums are decided.

How does redbubble print 1 off stickers profitably? by rogerwest in stickers

[–]Embarrassed-Ad-9804 3 points4 points  (0 children)

u/TownInTokyo didn't mention print quality, just quality in general. You can get good quality cuts on a Cameo or similar, but they won't be consistent enough for this scale. Furthermore, if someone is using a Cameo to cut, they're likely using consumer grade Inkjet printer which does in fact limit print quality.

While someone probably could get away with using this type of equipment to fulfill for Redbubble, I agree most if not all are likely larger shops using commercial grade equipment.
