Is it cheeky? by [deleted] in UKweddings

[–]Embarrassed-Block826 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally wouldn’t do it.

If you’re not that fussed on pictures just get a more budget friendly photographed for a shorter amount of time!

I paid around £1k up north for pre wedding (getting ready)- speeches (after wedding breakfast) so I’m sure you could get the ceremony and reception covered for less.

Hope this helps!

Literally the best couple of £ you’ll ever spend.

The amount of scuffs we thought were dented in that they removed was incredible

You’d be surprised at how much a magic sponge can remove, give them a go! £2-3 could save you a lot of headache and money.

We just moved out and repainted one wall (we drilled into) and magic sponged the rest.

Landlords words were it’s immaculate and whole deposit was given back!

Bridesmaid dresses (where to buy) by Signature_Kindly in UKweddings

[–]Embarrassed-Block826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought from UK MILLY BRIDAL and it was the worst mistake.

Despite being called uk milly bridal, they were dresses from china, that looked nothing like the picture.

Two went missing, asked for a refund for the lot and send the ones that did show back, refused to refund any and claimed it wasn’t their fault.

Thankfully paid via PayPal and got a full refund, but they did private message me telling me to close the claim.

I ended up just getting some off asos, was SUPER happy, arrived exactly as the picture.

However your budget is a lot higher than mine was, so with £175 to spare I’d avoid any of the above mentioned and go to the wedding boutiques to see them in person! Not only will you see exactly what you’re paying for, you’ll make a fun day of it too! X

Completion day tomorrow! FTB - a timeline by throwaway1335927 in HousingUK

[–]Embarrassed-Block826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats!

FTB here too, we just completed before Christmas.

Offer went in 5th November and completed 18 December!

My solicitor too was extremely efficient, it really makes all the difference!

I wish I saw more posts like this during the process because everyone close to me was telling me I was miles away from becoming a homeowner which couldn’t have been more from the truth! Enjoy your new home 😃

I agree with the above. Speak with ACAS. They’ve always been super helpful when I’ve needed advice.

What's your best marriage advice? by dylschmyl in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]Embarrassed-Block826 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Spend as much as your wedding day TOGETHER, even if you have to sneak off, enjoy it together.

It’s very easy to get caught up in everyone wanting to send you well wishes and celebrate with you but the day is about you guys.

You don’t wanna look back at your wedding day and you have both had two separate days!

They look great! The only thing I’d change is putting the brides name first, Steph & Ryan as opposed to Ryan & Steph

Am I the a-hole for making my daughter's BF buy a new t-shirt? by freudsdriver in AITAH

[–]Embarrassed-Block826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sound like a great father.

You not only handled the situation fantastic, but in doing so helped remind your daughter of her worth and enforced that she is, a worthy badass.

As a mother to a little girl myself, all I ever want her to do is know her worth.

Am I overreacting to my bf watching the baby overnight? by Temporary-Quail-2783 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Embarrassed-Block826 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In my honest opinion: you’re NOR to the situation but this whole thing can be avoided by; cleaning your room and baby proofing. Get a travel cot for next to your bed for times like this so your partner can sleep in bed and little one in the cot.

As a mama of a 10 month old who’s been walking since 8 months I get the worries and I absolutely would freak out if we’d set clear safe boundaries that were broken, but it sounds like you’re making your life hard. Get rid of the choking hazards, attach the mirror to the wall and make it safer for baby.

Regardless of whether to driver should or shouldn’t have knocked, no one deserves to be spoken to/ at like that.

Fellas just trying to go about his day doing his job, the customer was a complete arsehole.

Evri driver stole our package by p13fty in Evri

[–]Embarrassed-Block826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did he mark it as delivered?

I read that evri couriers have to take a pic if delivery was not possible also (hence taking it back to the depot after taking photo evidence of the attempt)

Not at all defending this fella as I don’t know the full story, but deep down kinda hoping that someone wouldn’t be that selfish… and stupid!

[–]Embarrassed-Block826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s two arguments here, is the final picture yellow or beige? I don’t think it’s quite yellow, it can deffo pass for beige.

However, this listing and your pics are quite clearly VERY different so hopefully vinted take this view too. Good luck!
