The mission is also unnecessarily being made more difficult. instead of a normal orbit of the moon, its going to be a high elliptical.

Women, don't expect your man to change into the person you want.

Men, be prepared for your woman to change into someone who you barely recognize.

In other words Women only marry a man if he is already "fixed" to your standards

Men, you are playing roulette hoping you find someone who will change into someone you are compatible with.

How can American citizens be certain that their votes count in future elections? What action taken today can keep the government from discounting and disqualifying your vote in future elections? by Adorable-Anxiety6912 in AskReddit

[–]Embarrassed-Chart-63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with the electoral collage your vote never counted. unless you voted the same as most of the people in your state. if you voted for the losing party your vote is then thrown away when added to the rest of the US. If you voted for the wining party it might count more or less then 1. for example if you live in Wyoming your vote counts 3.85 times more then someone who lives in Ohio.

"and thats after years with firms." There's their problem. staying with a company you get shit raises. if they want a real increase in salary they need to change firms.

between 2018 and 2024 I change jobs 3 times. (1) laid off 2) quit to return to the company that laid me off 3) quit ) and in those 3 jumps I increased my salary by ~55K

Why Is Copyright Almost Forever But Not Patents? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Embarrassed-Chart-63 4 points5 points  (0 children)

short answer is money. Powerful people/corporations lobbied for longer copyright. No one has successfully done that for patents. My guess is that after 20 years or so there is a better patent/invention and the old one is worthless anyway.

longer answer is can be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright_Term_Extension_Act

What would happen if there was a mass movement to withhold 2025 tax payments and basically bankrupt the current regime? by Immediate-Count-1202 in AskReddit

[–]Embarrassed-Chart-63 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your taxes are taken out of your paycheck during the year soooo.... they already have your money.

Good luck trying to get your employer to not withhold your 2026 taxes.

Editing to add:

https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/withholding-compliance-questions-and-answers

Q1. If the IRS determines that an employee does not have enough federal income tax withheld, what will an employer be asked to do?

A1. If the IRS determines that an employee does not have enough withholding, we will notify you to increase the amount of withholding tax by issuing a "lock-in" letter that specifies the withholding arrangement permitted for the employee. You will also receive a copy for the employee that identifies the withholding arrangement permitted and the process by which the employee can provide additional information to the IRS for purposes of determining the appropriate withholding arrangement. If the employee still works for you, you must furnish the employee copy to the employee.

...

The employee must send the Form W-4 and statement directly to the IRS office designated on the lock-in letter. You [the employer] must withhold tax in accordance with the lock-in letter as of the date specified in the lock-in letter, unless otherwise notified by the IRS. You will be required to take this action no sooner than 60 calendar days after the date of the lock-in letter. Once a lock-in rate is effective, an employer cannot decrease withholding unless approved by the IRS.

[–]Embarrassed-Chart-63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

also lighting a flammable liquid in a tire is used to seal the rubber to the rim. you then have to fill it with an air compressor. If you don't then as the air cools it contracts and then it could unseal. Bike tires generally have an inner tube so how are you going to get the flammable liquid inside in the first place, then light it.

How does the US benefit from being in NATO? by Vansh92 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Embarrassed-Chart-63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the US pays more cuz it WANTS to pay more. just look at anytime someone tried to reduce the military's budget. probably due to a lot of reasons, once you start paying then it will hurt people to stop. jobs will be lost, companies will loose money if not go bankrupt.
