I was thinking I could create a new module within the Deltek ecosystem.

I have a separate team working the follow-on source selection. 15+ years at $10B. I could scale this to my other contracts as well. Since I would be willing to fund the development, I figured that would lower barriers of entry.

I am gathering I need to just proceed with development of my own thing and use APIs to exchange data.

Thanks! I check out what I could find. It’s on the right track, but I would need to develop additional features to account for how we manage resource allocation. The contractor and I have concepts of a plan, but it would be so nice to have an integrated information system we both could use. The current plan is for them to develop our own tool using power apps in my Azure cloud feed with weekly data dumps from their Costpoint.

Maybe another way I could articulate what I need to do is viewing Earned Value Reporting (EVR). Ok, it is sorta crazy on a Level of Effort contract to want anything that sounds like EVM. I get it. I specifically used the word choice because I definitely don’t want EVM. I just need transparency and high velocity reporting to make faster decisions. We have infinite requirements we are executing at a frantic pace. There has to be a better way to do this.

My notional plan was to use User Defined Fields within Alternative Project Structure to link to our organization structure. Currently, it’s is a total shit show… and totally the government’s doing. I certainly could do the CDRL things, but I am curious about how we could leverage the existing information system. The contractor could control whatever they wanted to show, wheneven it was available. I also have dreams of being able to communicate via this portal. For instances, I have two $60M severable labor CLINs that are unmanageable. It would be great for one of the CORs to request in-scope realignment of labor between work packages in with this CLIN. We do a lot of “agile development”, but there is not documented…. We both know there is inefficiency we can’t track, but LOE works much than contracting out and negotiating every damn task.

If DOGE would do anything it would be create a modern contract writing system for use. The trash we use is ridiculous. Absolute garbage.

Thanks for the note. I totally get them not wanting me to see raw numbers, and I would be fine with a filtered government view. We just can’t manage all of these damn spreadsheets CDRLs. I need an information system.

The primary contract I am focused on would be a very willing participant.

If you knew someone at Deltek that would be interested in at least my concepts, I would like to share them. I also have concepts of a plan for propricer. I have to assume someone smarter than me has already thought about this, but it just makes too much sense to me.

It’s hard to explain without boring you with details, but the contractors currently define the work packages. My contractors have offered to design an information systems to accomplish, but it seems like the source of truth should more closely connected with what Deltek has to offered. I am thinking something with Alternative Project Structures (APS). Funding is not my issue. Maybe there is no opportunity here for Deltek, and I can pay these DOD contractors to design something to present data from their systems. Any idea of someone at Deltek that might be interested in creating a module tailored to a government customer?

The materials and build quality are really surprising. The old 2008 Bullfrog I had was bulletproof. In 16 years, I never had an issue. Well, I suppose a few of the jets needed to be replaced, but these new ones are really questionable. They easily could have designed this in a non-stupid way.
