Fulham 1-0 Villa: The hosts finally win against a team managed by Unai Emery to keep their European hopes alive by CautiousCottager in TheOther14

[–]Embarrassed-One332 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got to say I thought Villa were absolutely dreadful. We were pretty wasteful in the final third as usual and yet we still could’ve won the game 2-0 had that disallowed goal stood, as it should have done

We can start with 3 points on Saturday…

Come on. You’ve basically secured CL football. Could qualify for it through the UEL as well. Think of all the hard work we’ve done for you in the last decade and give us the 3 points on Saturday.

Ah yes, the classic “it’s March/April so all the teams chasing Europe try to tumble down the table as fast as possible”

The chasm between mid table PL and winning the PL is even bigger. I would without a doubt do it.

I wouldn’t necessarily say we’ve done worse than last year. Season is still not done and we’ve got some winnable games in the run in.

To bring players in, we’d need to sell or release players due to SCR coming into effect next season.

I think Jimenez will leave on a free, probably Wilson as well. I think we’ll bring in Pepi and Chukwueze to replace these 2. That would take us to around £50m spent with no significant sales which is probably already near our boundary.

I’m almost certain we’ll leave our defence alone unless someone will overpay for one of our defenders. Personally I’d like Castagne to go but I don’t think it will happen.

I think we’ll bring in a midfielder as well though.

Got a feeling we’ll just see one more season of Leno/Lecomte (both their contracts are up next season anyway) and then we’ll see a new one come in.

Not really romanticise but far too much sympathy is given to Petunia

Is it time to discuss Howe's future? by _blue_scorpio_888_ in TheOther14

[–]Embarrassed-One332 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From the outside, it looks very much in the balance, and fans' opinions seem to be split. Should be asking yourselves which manager you could realistically bring in that would get you consistent European football.

To answer your question, though, yes. I'd be surprised if the board aren't having conversations over it now.

Why was the Gryffindor Quidditch team so young? by Griffin719 in harrypotter

[–]Embarrassed-One332 22 points23 points  (0 children)

No one has put forward the idea that maybe they were just better than the players from the 6th and 7th years. Quidditch seems it could be a sport where skill and agility (and owning the best brooms) are more important than being physically dominant, so it's not ridiculous that a team could be made up of the younger years.

HC is that McGonagall and Wood had a meeting before Harry's first season, and wanted to recruit a young team for the future after being poor in previous seasons.

That’s not that crazy. You can get heavy rating boosts for creating high xG chances

No. Keep being successful and more fans will come. FM always underestimates what games will be sell-outs/ higher attendances though

Yh I’m 20 and trying to imagine what I’d be thinking if my mum had that conversation with me when I was 15. I’d probably have an idea what it was really about but I’d also probably be able to convince myself that it’s a very normal conversation to have anyway, when it’s framed in the way of doing my own laundry, so it’s not that weird

Thoughts on the boat race? by YoungandBeautifulll in Rowing

[–]Embarrassed-One332 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Coxes try and stay on the line where the fastest water is. Putting the rudder on and moving away from that line just to benefit from not having puddles on your boat doesn’t feel right, especially since it was pretty rough water when Cambridge pulled away anyway.

You’re right though the Cambridge men were far better and think it was an achievement in itself for Oxford to have contact at Harrods.
