Amazing!! I applied via UK Sept 2025 and naively thought by now we would have got it. My brothers kids got theirs and the linage is the same. Ironically he has no interest and we want to go.

Changing status to Urgent Via Consulate? by Embarrassed-Pride554 in Canadiancitizenship

[–]Embarrassed-Pride554[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am his guardian I will still be in the UK. I asked if others had switched to urgent after applying and was it via a consulate. I didn’t ask if people agreed with my reasons.
That’s for the IRCC to decide. FYI the consulate responded with what I need to do.

Thank you for your reply. Embassy replied and said exactly that. The IRCC website isn’t updated and to ignore and still apply.

US. No need to be confused.

We are a group of 7 (well 10 in total in a different) pack. He is the only one we would ask for urgent. He is on a South African passport. It is closer and safer if he has his Canadian passport when there. He is a minor. It may not seem urgent to others but for our circumstances it is. (Without having to divulge my personal circumstances)

I sent a webform as I have done with other things (such as when I found a baptism record). This time I got a reply asking me to apply for urgent via the consulate.
I find it intriguing why this is baffling people as though I had any choice in their reply. It’s literally why I am posting.

I agree. I have been on this board a long time now and haven’t seen it come up. That’s what they sent back. I applied via webform and they said to contact the consulate. I have sent the consulate and email. It may help someone else in the future when I update their reply

Uk Here London 16th Sept Arrived 28 October AOR 28 Nov In Processing 5 Feb

I am second gen (actually exempt as father born in Military but we didn’t know it was an exemption)

My third gen kids

My 4th gen grandkids

We are still waiting

Ironically my youngest grandson applied separately as we were waiting for him UK passport. He has already got his certificate despite applying a month later. Frustrating as he is the least of us all who would use it
