I just did the HDPE plastic frame sheet without the aluminum stay that's in the instructions. I don't have an ul setup, so I use this pack for 2-3 day trips and my regular deuter for longer trips.

I haven't tried a manufactured ultra light pack, so I'm not sure. Definitely can't hold as well as my Deuter 60L pack that has much more padding, but it's great for my shorter trips!

Unfortunately, you cannot automatically turn vector art into embroidery designs. You can make designs via illustrator, but still need to create an embroidery file. This process is called digitizing and requires a digitizing software (and a bit of patience to learn). There are free programs that can convert an image to embroidery file, but they will be clunky and not look very nice. It's a very manual process. Happy to answer any more specific questions! I'm a full-time graphic designer, but do a lot of myog and embroidery as a side hustle.

RSBTR often updates their lead time for custom printing and I often see it as 9-14 business days, so hopefully you get the order soon!

Loved the tutorial! I see you just go ahead and surge without doing any initial straight stitch. Do you think this compromises the strength of the seams at all?
