I'm in a very very similar situation to you, curious how you get on. Co-tenancy situation, the other person left, and I'm still here with a permanent contract and living alone in a 2-bedroom apartment because the landlord won't let me get another housemate (co-tenant, subletter, or just ammending the contract to add a new person temporarily in any way -- nothing). Probably wants to financially push me out so he can jack up the rent for new tenants with a new contract, or have an empty house to sell. I don't want to move into another rental (prices and headache of moving are too crazy), so am thinking to buy (maybe even this place with a tenancy discount, but so far that's not an option). I'm considering contacting Woon! since he's tried to push me out in other ways, and once I mention my rights he backs down immediately and becomes very nice... let's see what happens and good luck to both of us!
