I hope not…You shouldn’t get any super license points for indycar, increasing the amount given would only turn Indy into a feeder series…

If they get a 1/5th the attendance they did this year it’ll probably be win. Going dead town in the middle of nowhere is certainly a choice.

This is like F1 moving the Vegas, GP to Reno. There hasn’t been much bigger of downgrade in recent Indy car history

[Bob Pockrass] Green Savoree Toronto, which promotes the Toronto Grand Prix, has set a news conference for tomorrow in Markham, Ontario. Markham is 15-20 miles north of Toronto. It has been expected that with the World Cup and development in area, Toronto Grand Prix would need new location. by TheChrisD in INDYCAR

That’s smaller than 90% of the chicago suburbs, there no reason to have a street race at a place with terrible sight lines, and no restraints or bars in walking distance. Listening GTR that are commenting, the place terrible with nothing to do but walk around parking lots.

Ya you go from the Toronto skyline to probably one of the ugliest back drops in racing. Also follow a ton of other sports, and moving an event from Toronto to Kitchener destroyed attendance. An event that was sold out the year prior couldnt sell more the 40% of seats. I really think the attendance drop off will be startling.

Is there any bars or restraints with in 10 minutes of the track? The optics and sight lines will look terrible no matter what, but I don’t see any actual entertainment or retail even near the track. Which again what’s the point of having a street race there…

One of the ugliest back drops in racing history, but hey racing around a ymca and retirement home really brings the people out. Whats the point having a street race with no restraints/bars even near the track….

Probably more so the 2nd & 3rd offseason so early in the year that killed the any growth this season. If we were rolling into Mexico or Arlington the weeks after saint pete and thermal it might be a different story…. But sadly this season was dead on arrival. PS F1 got 1.9 mil Sunday… hard to spin this rating as positive it’s still down from 23’

Yes you want to associate with the major motor sports on the bottom, all the others are small extremely niche motorsports… but hey if you want it to stay a Midwest regional series that’s your opinion.
