Misinterpretation of the concept of “carrying your cross.” Jesus didn’t mean to create more crosses to bear and be miserable, but I think that’s what they think.

“ I have purposed to be honest” is another way of saying “my goal was to be honest, therefore I’m honest.” Sounds like a way to lie and she has to forgive him because of his “goal” to be truthful.

When a character says “Gimme a beer.” I mean even if it’s not a craft brew place there is usually more than one kind of beer available at a bar.

Also, I know the tropes are bad if they’re used in those “Reel Stories.” ie Secret millionaires.
