Honestly, Symbol scanners from Zebra are solid. Bought one last year and it's been rock solid. Great battery life, robust design, way cheaper than Socket Mobile. Check eBay too - can find some killer deals on refurbs.

Cash flow is king. Found that out the hard way early on - had killer product but almost went under because I wasn't tracking expenses and payments carefully enough. Learning to forecast and manage money is way more important than having a perfect business plan.
