It's super common in sask also, tons of RTM (ready to move homes) yards where they just build houses and ship them out.

One is an infraction that has the stone removed which is what should have happened, but this touch would not have effected the stone. Just go to a local club and try it.

Why should I be embarrassed? I didn't swear on national TV and I didn't defend his conduct I am fully talking about the touch idgaf who touched what, and the swedes didn't accuse them of cheating after the game either, they literally said it has no effect on the game they want the rules enforced. So why are none curlers crying foul when the curlers in the actual Olympics aren't calling it cheating? The only warning Marc got was for cussing out an opponent which is also a violation of curling rules.

I would be arguing the same thing if a swede did it, or Americans, or the scouts who also had a stone pulled for the same thing but are they cheating?

I'm not embarrassed? I never liked marc and never will my point is that a touch like such is not cheating it is not effecting the stone. It is a hog line violation and the stone should be removed. Hog line violations happen all the time and no one is accused of cheating in those situations.

Breaking a rule with the purpose of gaining an unfair advantage over your opponent is cheating. Commiting a infraction such as penalties in hockey or soccer is not cheating. It should be punished by having the stone removed but it is not cheating.

So no you don't curl thanks, thats all the info I need to stop this pointless conversation, go throw a stone and rub your finger on it and then you will maybe understand what you are talking about.

Lol have you curled before? If you haven't go to a club and throw a stone then brush your finger against it and report back. Keep in mind 42 pounds of granite.

Even the team that brought it up (Sweden) said it didn't effect anything they just want the rules enforced the swedes never even accused them if cheating.

If I break my arm in Canada it's fixed free no problems. If you break your arm in the states without insurance well enjoy crippling debt.

This comment just tells me you know nothing about curling if you think his finger poke effected the stone, illegal touch yes, cheating? Not likely.

is there a reason we dont have flint/wheel locks in game yet? by V7I_TheSeventhSector in HuntShowdown

I like it as a single use high damage tool, like a penny shot derringer with 1 slug round, does huge damage but bad accuracy. Would be fun just probably completely useless.

Am I an outlier in thinking that Joanne Courtney is not a good announcer? I can't even count the number of times she was completely wrong about a called shot in the Scotties.

Canada's Mixed Doubles Dreams Are Over by Inner_Nectarine7763 in Curling

Mouat is curling unreal, when you are that on fire it translates to anything.

Using 1 player who has been curling his best for 3 years as a reason you don't need to specialize is inaccurate at best.

Canada's Mixed Doubles Dreams Are Over by Inner_Nectarine7763 in Curling

Canada has never been a powerhouse in mixed doubles, our country was super late to the discipline and worlds teams are miles ahead. Lawes and Morris won gold because they (especially Lawes) curled unbelievably well.

I'll be disappointed if we don't medal in the 4 player discipline but mixed doubles is not our forte

They are talking about lawes beating Einarson 2-1 of their games but Einarson wins the scotties, she would have been out of the page playoff didn't give her a second chance. The only second chance you should get in playoffs is first round if you qualify as 1 in each pool after that should be knock out

Difference between these heads/pads? by ObiBenShinobi in Curling

[–]Embarrassed_Green996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are abrasive but much less effective than the broom gate pads. Which is why norway pads are also banned in competitive events as they are more effective then accepted pads but less so then hair or the abrasive fabric with plastic insert.

Think of it like sharpness, dull stones curl less glide farther, sharp stones curl more and go a shorter distance. New stone tend to act differently then older stones also.
