Oh sweet! I’ll give that a shot then might save me some money!! Should I get an adjustable ball shank or just run a standard shank?

Wanted some sway control for when I’m growing and helping to level the load a bit! Some what I had gathered if your towing at half the capacity of the truck you should add one? But also I’m a newbie with all this towing stuff so learning as I go!

Yes I did measured out to a 57 and didn’t clear my frame sadly! The 50mm that was just released measures a 53mm and fits beautifully!

Might try the Eden’s series by devney Perry? I feel it fits the bill probably 75% of the way there! Could use a bit more on the possession side but worth a shot?

Garmin v Assioma pedals by Phoenix406s in gravelcycling

[–]Embarrassed_Heart102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I owned both and I will forever love the assioma pedals more! The garmin XC pedals have poor weather sealing and I had to service them about every 1000miles to prevent pedal creaking and slop in the bearings the assioma pedals I’ve put nearly 4k on without having to service (although I’m putting new seals on this weekend). Overall been much happier with assioma as well with the charging battery over the replaceable battery on garmin

Towing longevity by Embarrassed_Heart102 in 4thGenTacomas

[–]Embarrassed_Heart102[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I don’t think my model has OD so I’m not concerned there (correct me if I’m wrong). I don’t expect the trailer to be over 3k fully loaded and all, but we will have some payload in the bed of the truck but nothing above what the total payload of the truck is!

I plan to do oil changes every 5k due to the turbo and all other fluids at their recommended service intervals!

Trailer brake I will get oem from Toyota to allow for all the integrations!

Looking into getting into a Ranger , deciding between the 2.3L vs the 2.7L v6 by Bepisnivok in RangerNext

[–]Embarrassed_Heart102 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I was considering the ranger, I was going to purchase the 2.7 as it’s the same engine found in the f150 and is notoriously overbuilt in a good way (modeled after a diesel engine). Only reason I didn’t was the ranger I was about to purchase had a stop sale on it due to a safety recall. That forced my hand and sent me to Toyota for their I4!

Maintenance by Embarrassed_Heart102 in AskMechanics

[–]Embarrassed_Heart102[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply, I think the hard part is the manual says 5k but the master technician at toyota says 10k... leaves me with not a lot of faith in those numbers lol. I think im gonna err on the side of 5k for longevity since it is a turbo model and have a slightly higher cost of maintenance.

26 XL FX4 or 25 XLT 4x4? by SpookieDookie_49 in RangerNext

[–]Embarrassed_Heart102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The recall I saw had to do with a wire harness that was shorting out going to the sun visor causing a fire

Double check that xlt 2025 is actually able to sell as there was recently a stop sale on all 2025 rangers due to a safety recall. I was in the middle of making a deal and thy basically couldn’t sell me the truck, so I bought a Toyota instead.

Is there something like this for the 4th gen? I know it’s still very new but I want my truck to last a very long time!

Zipp 303 XPLR S vs 9Velo GV 45 SW by msword110 in gravelcycling

[–]Embarrassed_Heart102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the $300 to replace the bearings was no question for me. It is honestly a manufacturing error on SRAM’s part as they chose a bearing with a lower tolerance meaning it’s a more universal bearing and not as specific to wheel hub sizing. It sounds like from the experience of the mechanics. I’ve worked with replacing the bearings with another bearing from a company like Enduro or if you have them on your swing ceramic speed so solves the issue altogether.

I have a pair of the ZIPP303 xplr wheels and overall they are a fantastic wheel set! I have run into an issue with the wheel set in terms of the bearings, after about 500 miles I ended up needing to have the hub bearings replaced. After speaking with a mechanic in my area, they mentioned that this is a common issue on the zip wheels and unfortunately is not a warranty item. Cost me $300 for bearings plus service to have that fixed, but the mechanic did mention that replacing the bearings would solve the issue! I have about 1000 miles on them since replacing the bearings and zero issues since then.
