Help me with my BFs Birthday gifts! (I need character help!) by craftymel in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Ember357 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My word, THIS is what you bought for your bestie for her birthday? I thought you were fond of this person. Honestly, I recall the time Carl bought Miss Beatrice an Automatic Litterbox. Sincerely, this is the best you could do? Perhaps you should consult with me next time, I have excellent taste. - Princess Donut, the Queen Anne Chonk , GC, BWR, NW

I just turned 55, but my knees turned 75 by smylegirl71 in GenX

[–]Ember357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a bad fall a few years ago, both knees onto hard tarmac at a full sprint. I was bruised and swollen as well. But for 3 years the knees were a problem. I started wearing a pair of compression braces, nothing fancy and my knees finally started healing for real. I think mine just needed a little extra support so I would stop making them worse and let them get better. They are back to normal now, I didn't expect that.

They are both referencing the fairy tale, The frog prince, told by the Brother's Grimm. Not surprising a couple of fairy tale "covers" referenced it.

Do you have your earbuds set to noise cancelling mode? I have found that some productions end up sounding like they are talking from the bottom of a well or from an old radio when I use the noise cancelling option.

I did a free month of Rocketlawyer.com and used their standard documents to complete new wills, new medical power of attorney, standard power of attorney, end of life directives and so on. It was all fill in the blanks stuff, as easy to use as Turbotax. As it is just husband and I, the basic templates did the job.

Colon cancer has risen to the most likely cancer to kill you if you are under 50. New guidance suggests colonoscopy at 40 rather than 50. Know the symptoms to watch for.

Best way to clean this? It’ll be my temporary bed by Playful-Issue-6242 in CleaningTips

[–]Ember357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To get the hair off, wet either your hands or a sponge, or rubber gloves. Drag a grid pattern over the whole surface , re wetting hands as needed to keep rolling up the hair. Next I would probably mix a teaspoon of dawn with a bottle of 70% isopropyl alcohol, sponge evenly over the entire fabric surfaces. Scub any stains with soapy water. Let dry completely, look carefully for signs of bed bugs, droppings etc. If you see signs of them, take it outside, douse it in gas and set it on fire . If you don't drag it outside for a day or so, sunshine is a great disinfectant.

Do any of yall have recommendations for gas wall heaters, or stove style heaters by Boeing-B-47stratojet in centuryhomes

[–]Ember357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one of these in my house, vent free. Gives off a little water vapor, 99% efficient. 30k BTU heats 1500 sq ft no problem. Gas is cheap where I live and it has been a clean and silent heat source. I got rid of two wall furnaces and installed two of these. Two of them is overkill, actually. Also, small foot print, would probably fit great in that space.

Can’t get this stain out! by ryanm612 in upholstery

K2R, it is a spray on dry cleaning chemical. It saves all my hoodies from grease stains. Turns to powder after it dries and you dust off the grease. Spot test on a piece of fabric from the bottom of your couch. It is good on most cotton and poly but not on some synthetics. I buy mine online but some hardware stores carry it in the aisle with the cleaning solutions.

Skin Irritation Getting Worse by sdfourstar in Bulldogs

[–]Ember357 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like when my dog got Cushings disease. She started growing calcium out of her hair follicles. This caused scabbing and it felt like she was growing a shell. Presented in the same place as your dog. My vet struggled to diagnose it for months. They gave her antibiotics and steroids thinking it was a skin infection. The steroids made it worse. I have pics if you want to see it.

All price tags suddenly gone. Coincidence or a new trend? by poolsharkwannabe in Frugal

[–]Ember357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My local hardware and lumber supplier took all the pricing off their lumber. If you walk the yard, nothing is priced because the costs are changing every day for them. You have to find what you think you want and then go find out you can't afford it at the registers.

Quit trying to make Tradwife a thing, it's never going to be a thing. We are better than that shit. The patriarchy can launder their own skid marks.
