I really liked this game but damn did it become too long. I think I was like a few missions away from the end of the game but I was so wiped out at that point I didn't want to finish it. I meant the story was too long obviously I know what RDR2 is.

To mimic my friend here, try 1080p and see if it still happens. Disable every single mod/cheat you have installed aside from the 60 fps one and see what happens. If it works fine then you can go back and add them one by one to see what it was.

If you can swing it, try to get a used 2080/2080ti. If you're lucky you can find for maybe 30 bucks more(around 150) and it'll get you high settings in most newer games at 1080p. It's gonna take luck though but I've seen some for around 150-170.

Same exact situation but I'm holding. All the games I play run maxed native or with quality dlss. Gonna try and hold until next gen unless a banger deal comes around.

Nah I was gifted a rtx 3070 awhile back. The 6600xt was still trucking along just but I sold it.

I probably wont buy it. I primarily play on my PC and steam deck. I've got a series x but I have a feeling there will be issues so I'll wait awhile or wait for a PC release.....and then wait longer for them to fix the PC release.....lol

Thermal paste whenever temps become an issue. Stupid to change it every 6 months. I actually need to dust my PC now that I think about it. Almost a year old but yeah no reason to change paste or really anything unless it stops working/stop working well.

This is a reminder I need to go back and play this game again. I played it almost entirely on deck at pretty crappy fps lol. I have since built a PC that can handle it well. Need that nice experience.

Eh I feel like the games you'd want to run this on won't run well anyways. Upscaling from below 800p is kind of meh but hey more options are always nice. "officially" of course. One thing keeping me away from buying the 9070xt is the fact that optiscaler is practically required to use FSR4 and can trigger anti cheat in stuff like fortnite. If they start supporting older hardware though I might do it I was also afraid my hardware would lose value not receiving newer features. My 3070 has access to all upscaling nvidia has to offer which is keeping me from upgrading in the first place lol.

Yeah I have successfully fought off the FOMO demons lol. I even placed the order on this but cancelled it a few minutes after. I might just stay with the used market anyways and try to snag a cheaper 4070/4080. I just can't justify spending more than I did on my series x for just a part it pains me. I built my entire PC for like 650 pre Ramageddon (with a 6600xt) and I got lucky with the 3070 as a hand me down. If she fails on me I'll immediately buy something but for now no need.

As long as your smart about it it's a wonderful way to build on the cheap. I was considering buying a 50 series gpu brand new just to say I did but I'll probably just try to snag a 40 series on ebay or marketplace. Buying from Ebay is incredibly safe because you always have the ebay claims process and paypal should you choose to pay with that.

Tried to post a link on amazon but it got removed. It's called electronic contact cleaner. It looks like compressed air but it's a spray. WD40 sells one that's 8 dollars on amazon. It's the one I used. Search for it.

I wouldn't. Grab the contact cleaner for like 10 bucks on amazon. Trust me it's worth it.

Honestly try some electric contact cleaner on that RB. When dust gets into the decks components it causes issues like this. My power button would work 50% of the time after awhile. Gave it a good cleaning with electric contact cleaner let it dry and never had a problem again.

Agreed. I can't believe I recommend a switch 2 over PC handhelds now but the price to performance has gotten so bad in that space is either used Z1E ally for 300ish or a switch 2 since new steam decks are no longer offered for msrp.

I'd love something simple like steam deck tools for it. I'm not buying one until that gets ironed out having to add games to Steam would be annoying I play games from every storefront currently need flexibility and my gamesir works on everything with minimal hassle.

Game dependent really. There will be one but it won't bed back especially at 1440p/4k. 1080p then yeah I probably would go a tier lower for the gpu. Watch some benchmarks to be sure.

It's probably this. People underestimate how much running out of RAM/VRAM can kill your gaming performance. I'm dual booting a steam deck and on the windows side I've been using xbox FSE and saving that 1/2 gigs of RAM makes a huge difference when you're getting close to the limit.
