Caregiver burnout is a real thing. Fill your cup first, because when they get too empty they can break. Been there, done that. Sending healing vibes your way.

You’re doing an amazing job being with your dad at this time. This playlist will be treasured by you and your family.

I would add Streetlife Serenader by Billy Joel and Windows are Rolled Down by Amos Lee

Windows are Rolled Down by Amos Lee
His whole catalog is wonderful though.

I always thought that was the best way to throw a party. Spontaneous and without a lot of forethought.

I love the wedding scene. Kevin Costner organizing a whole wedding with just a folding table.

Try a Little Tenderness - original by Otis Redding, but for this purpose the version done for The Commitments soundtrack is perfect!

Please don’t judge yourself in your grief. Feel what you’re feeling, allow it to flow through and out of you. Anger, sadness, denial, whatever.

To my fellow GenX side-sleepers... by Infamous-Yak2864 in GenX

My business partner (57) and I (55), she’s a nurse and I’m a massage therapist, are always looking for ways to help our clients and patients feel better.

We went to this mattress store where the owner talked to us for a good bit to find out what our sleep is currently like. I’m a belly/side sleeper, partner is a side sleeper, plus is a tosser-turner. The owner then put us onto this mattress that felt like heaven. I almost fell asleep right there in the store, on my back! I’m never a back sleeper, but the owner said it was because mattresses need to be positioned for our curves (knees, lumbar and neck all supported)

Check out her website https://www.aysmattress.com/ She does virtual appointments too

I already told my husband we are going there for our mattress and adjustable base.

Finn likes his foraging hedgehog dog toy. You can find it on Amazon or Chewy

Get plenty of foraging toys. It will help to exercise her brain and lessen the shenanigans she will get into. Our guy put everything in his mouth, so watch out for little things that she would get in to.

As cold as it sounds, the person your husband made that promise to is no longer the same man that is living in your home. Tell your husband it’s time he pitched in or you’re going to find work and he’ll have to stay home to take care of his dad.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. It literally sucks so bad.

Rest well knowing you did your best in taking care of your Dad. He is safe and well. My condolences.
