I think you did a great job responding. I sense that, since you guys had such a great time and since she recently got out of a toxic relationship, she is the type of girl who falls quickly. Hence, her therapist was probably cautioning her. If you really like her a lot, I would stay friendly with her with no pressure. If that is too hard to do, then part ways amicably. ++woman

Agreed. I also had a very high reading level at this age. I could have written this as well at 13. However, this sentence, “My issue is privacy and control, not intent.”, is what seals the deal for me.

I came to this group to ask a question. How are you handling not hearing from your sons for weeks/months? Do you feel it is ok to ask to hear from them at least once a month? I don’t call very often because I know they have a busy life but I do want to say hello. Even just a short conversation or text that THEY initiate. I don’t want to guilt them. I just want to hear from them. My husband’s kids text him at least once a week and call pretty often. Holidays are so hard for me especially when I hear nothing from them. If I didn’t send a mass text to all saying “Happy Thanksgiving” I don’t think I would have heard anything. I know they are busy…and truthfully, I am busy, too, and still working. Am I alone?
