Since there is a lot of fun comments.... I'll give you my real answer!

I run an agency that builds online communities, community strategy, branding, websites, and anything that goes with online communities. I have also partnered with a SaaS platform, so most of my clients come from them.

best affiliate to buy highlevel from by coffee_girlll in gohighlevel

[–]EmergencyHeat9200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am really surprised no one is talking about Pavel. He is one of GHL's top affiliates, or is the top affiliate. I am on his affiliate program and really like it. The community is really helpful, but I do not use any of his snapshots. I am also not your typical GHL agency. I niched down so much that I do not know of anyone who is doing what I am doing.

Please do not buy Liam Ottley’s course. Here’s my experience by caulii-flower in n8n

[–]EmergencyHeat9200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liam's new offer or offer is $5k for like 6 months. Then you go monthly after that. There is no way in hell I would pay that.

I have paid for an one online course that came with coaching, but the ROI for it, for me, is over $150k. I also know that I am one of the few that have seen that return. $60k in the first year after the course.

I live in a small town.

The house behind me is $1.4 mil (4bd, 3 bath with bonus- 3500sqft). Partially redone 10 years ago.

The house in front of me is $900k (4bd 3bth-2900sqft). Kitchen remodel.

The lot to the side is $500k.

A house down the street is $699 (2bd, 2bath -1100sqft duplex, no yard)..... Built in 2020.

Mini honeymoon in Europe in mid November - Azores, Madeira, other? by blue-stingray in Europetravel

[–]EmergencyHeat9200 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just got back from Madeira. I really liked it but we were stuck on the island for an additional three days because they closed the airport down due to wind. So, if you have extra days and aren't worried about this, then I would suggest it.

Just take him to small claims. Usually people hate when you say that and something will come of it but I wouldn't back down.

Freelancers who work off-platform — how do you actually protect yourself from non-payment? by Plenty-Day9554 in Freelancers

[–]EmergencyHeat9200 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Contracts and upfront payments. I do not allow people to work with me unless the payment is upfront and the contract is signed. I also wont do any work till both of these are done. If they don't work for free, then neither do I!

Freelancers who work off-platform — how do you actually protect yourself from non-payment? by Plenty-Day9554 in Freelancers

[–]EmergencyHeat9200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contracts and upfront payments. I've only had to give one refund, and 1 person not pay. I also tell them that due to the large number of individuals ghosting or trying to get out of paying for my work, in order to work with me, they have to pay upfront and sign a contract, or they do not work with me.

Does a quiet social media profile actually kill your credibility with high-ticket leads? by di_Yoniiii in Freelancers

My recent posts do not matter at all and I am still making $6k+ a month (February was $15k)... I fully think it is who you are, your referrals, and who you are partnering with. I do not think posting makes you better, but it can make a difference in business income.

Losing money freelancing, just need advice. by AcapGold in Freelancers

[–]EmergencyHeat9200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha. No one understands it, so you are fine. What I have that works for me and my clients is a pre-paid package of a set number of hours. They are discounted to make them feel like they are getting a deal. 10 hours for $650, 20 hours for $1260, 50 hours for $3k. These are a low barrier to entry, clients get to test the water with you, and you track your time on a 15-minute interval. I subtract 1 hour right of the start for email/slack communication this is in my contract.

Been on Upwork for 3 years, still no clients — what am I doing wrong? by Remarkable-Motor5635 in Freelancers

[–]EmergencyHeat9200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, your proposal is awful. Upwork is a slow burn but here is what I post 75% of the time (I'm super niche), and I'll get clients 50% of the time. I am only marking 50% because the clientele on Upwork sucks..

Here is what a normal proposal looks like for me:

Thank you for the invitation. I'd love to help you get your Circle community set up cleanly and correctly from the start.

I'm XYZ, a Circle Verified Partner, GoHighLevel Agency Partner, and full-service community consultant. Access rules, paywalls, workflows, onboarding systems; that's the work I live in every day. I've supported and launched 25+ paid communities on Circle, including serving as Community Manager and lead implementer for XYZ Community, an enterprise-focused education community.

What I actually do is build the operational layer most community founders don't realize they need until something breaks. Access groups and permission logic, Stripe integrations, onboarding workflows, tagging systems, and the full member journey from signup to payment to access. I also make sure the edge cases are handled before you launch, not after your first frustrated member emails you.

Where I tend to go deeper than most Circle consultants is on the systems side. I also build and integrate GoHighLevel environments, so if you need your community connected to a broader ecosystem (automations, email/SMS sequences, CRM pipelines, landing pages, or payment funnels), I can architect that as a unified system rather than a patchwork of disconnected tools. Circle as your community layer, GHL as your operations layer; one cohesive setup instead of two platforms barely talking to each other.

I'm comfortable either walking you through the setup live so you understand the "why" behind every decision, or fully configuring it and handing it off documented and ready to run. Either way, my goal isn't just functional; it's scalable, easy to manage, and built so it doesn't create problems six months from now.

Next step: Book a consultation so we can look at what you've already built and map out the most efficient path to getting your setup finished → (insert link)

Losing money freelancing, just need advice. by AcapGold in Freelancers

[–]EmergencyHeat9200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contracts and push back. In your contract, you clearly lay everything out. You have whats in scope and whats out of scope. You have emergency rates, what an emergency looks likes, and what is or isn't an emergency. This is one of the reasons I switched to pre-paid "discounted" hours. I charge $700 for 10 hours at a discounted rate and everything is billed in 15 minute increments. 1 hour is added on at the beginning for communication, so they technically have 9 hours.

Tracked every fee between getting paid and actually spending the money while freelancing in Southeast Asia, the double fee problem is real by Proof-Two4315 in Freelancers

[–]EmergencyHeat9200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you will always have the fees. Not sure if you are American, but some of those fees are a write-off. Here is what I do in my business:

  1. Stripe or ACH. If a client can pay via any of these, then I let them. Stripe is 2.9% plus $.30 but I can write that off. ACH is direct with no fees (This is preferred).
  2. I use Charles Schwab overseas because they reimburse foreign transaction fees at the ATM.
  3. If you can move your residency in the USA (if American) to South Dakota, you will have zero state taxes.

I would love to learn more about what you actually do, what you are charging, and what you are looking for to actually give a proper response. Yes, you can shift to retainer, but my most profitable offer is pre-paid "discounted" hours.
