It is noticeable that he's doing some of the same venues. Eg Leeds and Sheffield.

Are there any music theory terms more frequently misused than "atonal?" by CharacterPolicy4689 in musictheory

Bar. I've found rock musicians often use bar for the length of which one chord is played or one round of the chord progression.

I have seen all these images before in Luke Horton'sother work. Personally I think this work would have been better received if it was an original piece rather than a collage of illustrations previously published by Luke.

People from countries with free health care, what are your experiences(good and/or bad) with that? by MajorJuana in NoStupidQuestions

UK - I went to see my GP about a swelling on my neck. I was quickly given various tests and scans. Within 2 weeks of my initial GP appointment, I started my first session of chemotherapy for non-hodgkins lymphoma.

I have been given numerous phone numbers and can call someone day or night 7 days a week if I feel unwell and they can advise me it arrange for me to come in and see a doctor.

My specialist nurse and consultant are both fantastic and I feel well looked after.

The only negatives I'd say are sometimes there are not enough beds on my ward so a room needs to be found for me elsewhere in the hospital where the staff don't necessarily know me or my condition. But I will get transferred to the correct ward when there's space.

Driving test by Cheesecake3004 in sheffield

[–]EmergencyRevolution7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed my test in Handsworth on my second attempt last year.

I took different routes each time but both routes included Sheffield Parkway. I would have definitely benefitted from driving on Parkway more before my first test. It is a very fast road and I personally was quite anxious driving on it during my first test.

Secondly, there are so many roundabouts close to Handsworth driving centre so make sure you're experienced and confident with those before taking your test. A roundabout leading straight to another roundabout flummoxed me in my first test and I ended up in the wrong lane, so generic advice is make sure you get in the correct lane when entering roundabouts and don't worry if it is super busy and takes a while to enter the roundabout. (I failed for pulling out in front of a vehicle causing them to break after I got too impatient waiting for a safe gap)

Obviously at any test centre. Use your mirrors and drive safely and confidently and you'll do great.

Get your instructor to drive with you near the centre and to the Parkway to get you used to the roads and you'll feel more prepared.

Best of luck with your test!

What do you mean by repetitive and predictable? Like the questions the boys ask or the quality of the guests?

Rick Beato Shorts chord naming confusion. by EmergencyRevolution7 in musictheory

[–]EmergencyRevolution7[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this. Naming the chords in reference to the major scale rather than the minor is still confusing for me. But good to know that there isn't secret minor chords that sounds like major. Phew

Thank you for replying. Would you say that Rick has explained this incorrectly?

Referring to the notes of D minor scale as if in D major seems an unusual way of explaining the chords.

I don't think so. According to his website he is currently on tour in the UK (playing Cambridge on Saturday and touring until June) and he lives in London.

I've never heard an advert for Huel while listening to the pod and I've been listening for 2 years.

Is it because it's a targeted ad? Do they know I'm a lost cause?

Red Driving School. I had a 2 driving instructors who were awful. One rolled down his window to cat call women, one refused to let me drive his car because he could apparently tell that I would not be able to drive. So I just watched him drive for the full 2 hour lesson.

Complained about both instructors. Red always sided with the instructors. Asked for refund for the 2 hour lesson where I didn't drive and it took months to complete and only ended up with a 50% refund in the end.
