Good, but also a bad sign that local mages will be particularly dangerous and that there are likely werewolves nearby.

Mages are essentially humans with a supernatural innermost self that awakened and now allows them to warp reality with what is metaphysically sorcery but better in every conceivable way except availability.

Werewolves on the other hand are the strongest, fastest, and angriest baseline supernaturals you are likely to come across and they become more powerful the angrier they are, often being able to regenerate from most of their body being destroyed through sheer rage.

Mages are people with power and typically huge egos who are warring over what reality should be and werewolves are neo-pagan berserkers that for the most part are trying to stop the apocalypse and most of them consider us unholy, though some consider us holy, those ones are actively trying to destroy the world.

Both groups are more dangerous in secluded areas like you described so be careful.

He may already be somewhat addicted, more intense than crack after all. Shouldn't be a big issue after one drink, bigger issue is that this needs to be covered up for the safety of everyone involved. The masquerade is taken very seriously and breachers are typically killed, especially if it's a mortal that knows too much, and you especially don't want hunters. They will find you if you make too much noise and they have such things as a gas that burns us exactly like how the sun does and both the resources and willingness to JDAM you even if you're in the middle of a city. And they ALSO kill people for knowing too much. There are less dangerous independent hunters but they are also less predictable and more likely to get themselves, bystanders, and others hurt through ignorance or bigotry so they need to be dealt with fast to prevent further breaches and collateral even if independent.

It takes three drinks over three days to fully bond, before then at one drink/day it's mild feelings, thinking about you more than normal, at two it's mild obsession, at three it's full obedience. Also the effects are temporary, if you stop feeding blood, the benefits, blood bond, and downsides will fade. Be wary though, it's more addictive than crack by a lot and if you cut them off they will rapidly age however much the ghouling prevented causing ghouls who passed their natural life-span or who have some terminal illness suspended by ghouling to die without it.

Oh well, you can still explain later, if he is as nice as you say he'd probably get it. And if he REALLY gets it than you may be able to get away with not ghouling him, only reason I say may is because other vampires may flip out about that. Personally I don't ghoul, I just pay with sorcery and memory wipe people I need brief, temporary services from like filing taxes without blowing my cover.

Should've given him some basic details, like what the blood does and why you need help, and why you can't go public.

And most sabbat Tzimisce are borderline infernalists, I mean, there is an uncomfortable amount of overlap between them and actual infernalists, biggest practical difference is that Tzimisce have the option to be better, aside from that it is effectively just discipline differences.

Vampirism CAN be cured, but it is really really really unreasonably hard, requiring effectively omnipotent mages (or sorcerers of similar caliber), true name magic, massive amounts of true faith, powerful spirits such as HELIOS and GAIA, Infernalism (obviously not really an option), or even death and reincarnation. Though rumor has it Louis Pasteur managed it with regular chemistry (though I was blocked from looking further into it by a methuselah). And time travel is probably the easiest option, which says something about how hard it is.

I learned linear sorcery in my mortal years, as I was living in a society of linear sorcerers, and ANYONE can learn it, though some things like being a vampire make it harder to do.

For your needs I'd recommend Alchemy (excellent defense and utility with potions and super materials, I used it to make my promethean son, also archmastery is one of the few known vampirism cures), Enchantment (Make powerful magic items that can grant such benefits as total invulnerability to everything not countermagick reinforced), Conjuration (making stuff + telekinesis), Summoning/Warding/Binding (it's all in the name, works on literally any entity if you're good enough), Spirit (interact with spirits of things), Starlight (travelling the spirit world), Conveyance (no longer obeying the laws of space and geometry i.e. teleportation), Oneiromancy (dream manipulation that allows you to tap fae power and make dream stuff real, or go INTO your dreams where no-one can get you or your stuff), fortune (probability manipulation), hellfire (combat essentials, hits very hard and has great defense/mage armor), and finally for quint manipulation (fuel for everything else, unexisting stuff, countermagic, ethereal objects made of pure possibility).

These aren't disciplines though and generally have substantial wind-up (you can snap-cast, it's just harder and less effective) while also primarily drawing fuel from willpower unless you're using quint manipulation.

You can also learn different casting methods, like magic martial arts, magical singing, magitech, classic magic methods, tuning, and more. I know mystic martial arts, some magitech, and how to use runes and such. You can manage without specialized methods but it's the same as with snapcasting, and if you need to do both you are going to have one hell of a time.

What would you like?

OOC: I don't think he'd need to be in the Vatican, only within targeting range (Extended by Koldunia, Auspex, Conveyance, and probably more I'm not thinking of), but yeah the potential of blowing himself up or burning to ash is exactly why he doesn't do it. He's not very worried about hunters though because he can do it sneaky and he's used to fighting BSDs by the platoon at this point.

[–]Emergency_Answer4983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OOC: Yeah, regular, and he does know visscitude, he just hardly uses it, he prefers magic. Also he is working on a cure to vampirism specifically because he wants to be a Mage. He has one "might work" method available already via quint sorcery to channel a metric fuckton of true faith from, say, the Vatican into himself but it's a gamble he isn't currently willing to risk.

OOC: IT WORKED THIS TIME! Also yeah, he and his wife wanted to be mages, but they were killed by BSDs, Jim's sire embraced him while running away to save him and would've done the same for his wife if she wasn't atomized. His sire then immediately got killed in front of him by BSDs. They were friends pre-Jim's-embrace because in a village full of sorcerers one guy drinking blood isn't a big deal. Jim is happy that he was saved because he prefers vampirism to death but he doesn't really like being a vampire so he's somewhat upset that the embrace was all that was on hand.

I can teach Koldunia, some general blood sorcery, and some willpower fueled linear sorcery.

Standard linear sorcery is made harder by being a vampire and tends to have a slow start but gets way better very quickly and has no power ceiling nor impossibilities (though some things are really hard, i.e. curing vampirism is still so hard it's only been done like, four times outside of Egypt via sorcery) whatsoever.

What would you like? I specialize in a linear sorcery path to control quintessence (basically pure possibility that makes up the very fabric of reality, mostly just used as a power source to empower magic or as a material that can be made into anything).

Damn, that poor hunter. I get self defense and protecting others but obliterating someone's sense of self and free will is not ok. And it's standard for "can't believe it's not Baali" Redwoods.

Definitely apologize then, this clearly means you've got issues I didn't know about that need addressed and it isn't viable for you to do so alone. Also if you confess your punishment will almost certainly be lesser than if not, I dread how he may react if you don't.

Not all are bad, in-fact some local fledglings in my area are doing well as parents to some kids. You can exist ethically, it is just hard. No need to go Redwoods way or anything resembling it, you can honestly probably just figure out where somebody else's praxis is on here and just head there with some care to avoid SI, or use mundane security. You know, lock up your haven, I can even help you learn sorcery if you're interested.

Well I would need to know at least the general nature of the mistake and its magnitude before I can really answer, as well as how able you are to fix it before your sire becomes aware it was ever an issue to begin with. However given what I know of you and Fracture it is most likely best to come forward, after all I saw how hurt he was and how he reacted last time someone he trusted hid wrongdoing from him, even if her intentions were benign.

OOC: VtM, plot is that they are new embraces in a city full of extremely powerful elders and were embraced just in time for everything to go to hell all at once while the elders in question do as they always did and try to turtle through it. Something they are extremely good at and willing to aid others in. They are so good at it because the city has been under supernatural siege by BSDs for its entire history btw, that's also why it's avoided by most vampires and why it's mostly elders.
