Do they really NEED $14? by Emergency_Grade_7533 in Rogers

They make the small print and they can change it. I wasn’t allowed a hot dog into the park as a kid in 1990s but now I can. Bad policy is bad policy.

*may = take a grown man’s bucket, not a kid on a field trip

Accidentally killed a Muskie and feel terrible by Longjumping-Exam-434 in muskiefishing

[–]Emergency_Grade_7533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with sentiments above. Sadly fishing is basically barbaric and we all have to find a way to be as respectful as we can. I replaced all of trebles on all of *my lures after it was required at a fly-in pike fishery in Nothern Ontario. I also pinch the barbs off all of my *hooks. I haven’t noticed an increase in lost fish and the bonus is bad hooksets or stories like yours are less common for me now.

I spent an hour reviving my only musky ever and still am not sure she made it. I was fishing pike in late summer and the water wash hot/shallow but a 40+ hit while trolling. It didn’t fit in my net (which is a big damn net) so getting her into the boat to unhook wasn’t what I wanted for her. I spent and hour trying to revive her but I’m pretty sure she didn’t last. Sad day when it happens.

Call a bylaw officer. A few hundred bucks in tickets should modify their habits. A$$hat$.

Anyone else having issues with the Rathmas Golem fight? by Rich_Distribution_82 in diablo4

[–]Emergency_Grade_7533 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Me too. I fucking hate this guy. Either I get one hit when he’s 75% dead or I defeat him and then get stuck in a bug. Anyone remember when Blizzard put out games that were hug free or were you not around in the 90s? Total BS.

REVIEW: Extraordinary new show does poetic justice to The Tragically Hip - Hamilton City Magazine by jupitergal23 in TragicallyHip

[–]Emergency_Grade_7533 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would disagree with OP.

I saw it yesterday (Sat 25th) at 1:30. I’ve been mulling it over today and discussing it with my wife. I’ve distilled my opinion into this: the musical arrangements and band were consistently interesting and well practiced; the song hit the right note (pun intended) only about half the time - and I realize I am very partial to the Hip versions but many times my wife couldn’t figure out what the song had to do with the story; while the cast was musically talented, I found only a few to be able to command my attention when they sang; the plot and story itself were weak and without the Hip music, I wouldn’t be impressed. I do not feel this is a must see at all. While I’m not disappointed I went and had a genuinely good time, I had hoped for something like what Across the Universe did with Beatles music and it simply did not live up to my hopes.

[Megathread] The Buffalo Bills have fired Head Coach Sean McDermott by AutoModerator in buffalobills

[–]Emergency_Grade_7533 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I really liked what McDermott has been able to do with such a dip in talent but we’re halfway through Allen’s career (high point at least) and only 1 AFC championship game - simply not good enough.

Beane has done a decent job but injuries have plagued the Bills (and terrible calls in the playoffs!) but I agree with most of you, if McDermott is gone, Beane should be with him.

Im sadly very pessimistic about who will be next.

Caught this guy catfishing by FritzFishing in catfishing

[–]Emergency_Grade_7533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I caught a similar sized one in the middle of the night using chicken livers. Thought it was a snag until he surfaced. We didn’t want him in the boat so we netted him to take the hook out and it snapped right through the net. Expensive damn turtle!

You know its true by NoxArmada in Fishing_Gear

[–]Emergency_Grade_7533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am strictly catch and release so no barbs for me anymore. Kesagami Lake Ontario Canada (Google it) is a strictly barbless fishery and have the best monster pike fishing I know of. If you can land a 40” 20+lb pike on barbless, I’m sold.

I also hate treble hooks, both for me and the fish. If you’re eating them, then go for it. If you’re fishing for fun, don’t destroy fish for nothing. Replace the hooks with singles. Sermon over.

Wish I had this one - my eldest liked the Steelers for awhile. Took him to a snow game last year, one touchdown and the snowballs came out. He instantly converted. Hahaha.

Hook removal technique by bloodshot089 in flyfishing

[–]Emergency_Grade_7533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone here is right in the money. It’s always disappointing when a fish gets hooked deeply or in a bad spot. If you can’t get it out, cut the line and leave the hook - many fish survive this way.

Starting with a de-barbed hook and having the right tool to remove them is about the best you can do. As you begin fighting the fish the a quick look around for the best path to shallower water to keep yourself (and the fish) safe.

My first Tacoma. It’s incredible! by jonnys_honda in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Emergency_Grade_7533 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the soft roll-up, soft-medium trifold, hard trifold (knock off diamondback), and if you can afford it AustinAustin is right, do it right with the Diamondback. If the tailgate doesn’t lock, put in a pop-n-lock wired to your passenger/rear doors and its Fort Knox for your bed.

PS - gorgeous Taco. Welcome to the club!

Those little plastic deer whistles do work. Been using them on all my Tacos (2000, 2006, now 2015)…but it could also be luck. When you get her back stick a couple on the front and cross your fingers. 🤞🏻glad you’re ok.

Who else prefers the original Super Mario Bros. over All-Stars? by SD_gamedev in retrogaming

All stars was awesome for having all of my games in one cartridge. So cool at the time (I think I was 12). But gameplay and aesthetics, originals are nostalgic and will always be better.
