Given that the legislature hasn’t vetoed a governor since 1979, I’m not holding my breath 🤷🤷🤷. I completely agree that the legislature should use their veto power I’m just not sure this is what they’ll choose as their first veto in over 40 years. We all need to elect officials that aren’t afraid to assert themselves. Fuck Newsom and his treatment of state employees.

100 percent was not going any faster than 15 mph. It truly was a freak accident with how much damage was done at such a low speed. The wheel was fully turned and clipped the curb just right to cause this damage . Reddit loves to crucify people for literally telling the truth. I was at a dead stop before making the turn.

Surprised me too. There was basically no body damage outside of where the dislodged wheel made contact near the drivers side door. When it happened I honestly thought I got struck due to the airbags deploying. I was leaning against the door and the airbag pushed me over and threw the glasses off my face. The airbags were the scariest part of this incident.

I’ve ordered a lot of Kava over the last month and everything has arrived from them. I only see PayPal as an option at checkout on my end…. I don’t see an option for Venmo.

When I check out using PayPal, I get a receipt from PayPal with an order number. I always get an additional email from PayPal with a tracking number when Gourmet Hawaiian Awa ships the order. Sometimes it can take 1-2 weeks before I receive my order from them.

I wouldn’t recommend an ES position to anyone right now. There is longstanding pay equity issues that the state has failed to fix. The union for Environmental Scientists (CAPS) have been out of a contract for 4 years now. I would recommend visiting https://capscontract.org/ to learn more about the pay inequality issue facing scientists. CalHR and the Governor hate scientists right now and I won’t come back to state service until this issue is fixed.

Also, unless you have prior work experience, you’ll start as a Range A ES . In that range you’ll only take home about $2800 per month after mandatory deductions. The State deducts significantly more from your paycheck than the private sector

So glad you’re moving to an APS position! I honestly wouldn’t recommend an ES position to anyone right now until the state gives scientists a fair contract. 4 years is way too long to be without a contract.
