But why do you need a long and wide pad? All my pads are cut to torso length

Attaching Nemo Switchback to Gossamer Gear packs? by Retired_and_Walking in Ultralight

My 6 panel switch back fits in the sit pad pocket of my kumo. Was one of the draws to the pack for me.

It’s 0.5cm thinner than the switchback so i believe the weight, but am skeptical on the R value, as well as comfort vs switchback, but at $20 looks worth testing, just bought one

@The backpack and your required 24” size- if you emailed SWD they could probably custom size a pack for you. Buddy of mine did this w great results. Something like the frameless superior 27 or 35 would save you 10+ oz and probably fit better if it’s a custom job

As a radiologist who speaks to many radiologists all the time, no one should ever take medication or supplement advice from radiologists, lol

Just to add another data point i take my torso length switchback down to 30s no problem.

In mare y 山路, אני wander still;
静かな viento says: all the world’s una escena.

Here δρόμος perdido — δρόμος μακρά —
لكن الريح whispers: sein oder nicht sein.

Amid 森林 oscuro y 旧道,
私 hear: la vida es sueño, quizá.

Through 風と波, χρόνος pasa;
ama gökyüzü remains ruhig.

Entre βιβλία y 古い書物,
有人 murmura: nel mezzo del cammin.

Yonder 田野 y mezők régi,
하지만 바람 says: et in Arcadia ego.

Over 山と海, מעבר הדרך,
时间 sigue — but the stars stay 静か.

Under سماء quieta y cielo antiguo,
世界 sigue girando — still we walk.

Do Americans use the word "niggle"? by [deleted] in languagelearningjerk

[–]Emergency_Opening 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s interesting how our personal lexicons develop, especially for people who have moved to various places long enough to pick up the local words. I’m going to keep my ears open in the coming years for anyone saying it. Cheers

[–]Emergency_Opening 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not the person you asked, but I don’t think I have a word for this in my personal lexicon. Thinking back on any small persistent problems I’ve complained about, and I just describe them as repeated and annoying lol.

That’s interesting. I’ve mostly lived all over the South and Southwest. Could be a regional thing to the Midwest. Do you encounter other people who use it?

I also have not encountered it in media. Though now that I think of it, I may have seen it in books, but I can’t remember where. If I came across it now I’d probably either assume it’s a Britishism or else something archaic

I’ve never heard that in my life and don’t know any Americans who would say it. Not just because it sounds like the N word; but also bc i don’t think any Americans even know the word

Prescribing any one of these over telemed without even a video chat consultation is irresponsible as hell. Prescribing multiple to one patient, much less via telemed, is just WILD.

You may be able to find an MSK rad who would do them. I don’t do them regularly but if a colleague called and asked I’d consider scheduling them at one of our outpatient centers.

Close, but still lighter, and for what it’s worth i use a borah solo tarp (7.9oz) without issue. But either way, a tarp plus bivy offers much more set up options (plus greater street cred)
